C sections and GD and fasting

I got my confirmation letter today - have to be at the hospital at 7am on the 6th sept which is fine, except it has no food/drink after midnight and one glass water ONLY at 6am which I don't have a problem with but wondering how do I take insulin on empty stomach when the diabetes educator really enforced me taking insulin just PRIOR to eating (she even said to inject the insulin while I'm sitting at the table - thats how important she said it was!!!)
I asked the booking clerk and she said *you'll have to ask yr Dr* even though the letter says contact us with questions about fasting
I will ask, but wondered in the mean time what anyone else with GD - who had a c section - did

I was on insulin for my last 2 pregnancies.. With my last baby he was a planned c/s and I to was worried about this but they said not to worry at all.. Just take my insulin as planned the night before but not to bother after that.. I was fine.. and my blood sugars were fine too.. They were a little high the morning of the c/s though.
