    Secondary Post Partum Haemhorrage?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this - but I'm not sure where else to put it.

Please if anyone can offer advice, I'm all ears...

My baby was born 2 weeks ago, I stopped bleeding after a week (which I thought was unusual)... since then I've had 2 "episodes" of loss (ie overnight or just an afternoon). Until tonight, I was sitting on the couch eating dinner when I felt my loss coming (TMI, sorry), I stood up quickly, ran to the loo and let it all come out.

I'm only starting to get a little worried now, as I'm pretty sure it was dark red & not bright red, but how do you know the difference? As when its on toilet paper it can look both dark & bright...

I called my hosp & the midwife said that it was normal. I'm not in pain (other than usual cramping from uterus shrinking) and there's no fever. I'm just really scared as when I left the hosp last week they said to be aware of secondary post partum haemhorraging (sp?).

Anyone have answers to ease my mind? I had a c-section by the way if that changes anything.

I'd call again or go see your gp, if only for peace of mind.

I bled for several weeks, then got some big clots - turned out I had an infection, but no other symptoms.

Marcellus, how did they treat you? Antibiotics or? I just want to know that if it does happen, it's not the end of the world... I've had a bit of an emotional ride since this birth & don't think I could handle any more bad news.
