Did your labour start the same each time??

I'm sure there's another thread like this but I can't find it!

Just wondering if your labours each started the same, or differently??

With DD I woke up one morning and found I'd started to lose some of my plug, was just like ewcm but lots. Then got some cramps on and off all day which progressed into contractions that night.

Today I've had the ewcm stuff which I haven't had before now so I'm hoping it's the start of the plug coming away and labour might be in the next few days!

    Completely different.

DD1, my waters broke around 4am and contractions started about 30minutes later.
DD2, Felt 1st contraction around 4am and waters broke 6 minutes before DD2 was born 22.5hours later.

I guess the only similarity was the time things started.

Both my labours started spontaneously and both my sons were born at exactly the same gestation, 38 weeks and 2 days, but that's where the similarity ends.

With DS1 I lost my mucous plug on the Tuesday night and my waters broke at 3am on the Thursday morning. Contractions started straight after my waters breaking. DS1 was undiagnosed breech and ended up a c-section born at 6:50pm.
With DS2 I'd had more discharge than usual but no plug. Contractions started at 6:30pm, plug fell out after a stretch and sweep in hospital at 8am the next day and my waters were broken at 2pm, with DS2 arriving by VBAC at 3:10pm.

Sounds like it could be your plug coming away and fingers crossed you'll be holding your new little bundle very soon!

    Mine were also different.

DD1 - At 39 weeks, I had 3 days of prelabour before waking up at 3.45am with proper contractions - painful and 5 mins apart. Baby was OP so my labour was 41 hours long before I was dilated enough to push for 1 hour. My waters were broken for me 36 hours into my labour when I was 7cm dilated.

DS1 - Prelabour started around 35 weeks. At 38 weeks I was induced. Had a reaction to the cervidil they used for the induction and had 2 days of painful non-labour contractions as my uterus was irriated before they broke my waters and labour started immediately - baby also turned OP the instant my labour started. They wouldn't let me push and didn't believe me when I told them I thought I was transitioning so DS1 was born in one push after 8 hours because his head was already out by the time they realised I was dilated enough to push.

DD2 - Prelabour started around 35 weeks and ramped up at 37w4d to regular period pain contractions every night for 3 hours. I was booked in for a c/section due to her being breech at 38w3d and 4 hours before my scheduled surgery, I woke up with a painful contraction at 2.00am. I sat on the couch to see if I had another one - 10 mins later my second contraction. Decided to see if I had a 3rd and waited another 10 mins for it. Had a shower while I decided whether or not I should go to the hospital and my contractions started coming on top of each other. Arrived at the hospital 25 mins later (45 mins after my first contraction) to find I was 9cm dilated. My waters never broke and I was rushed in for an emergency c/section.

DS2 - Prelabour started around 33 weeks - regular painful braxton hicks that kept me up from 3am - 9am most mornings. Booked in for a c/section at 38w3d and despite all the signs that labour might start on it's own, it didn't and 'elective' c/section went ahead.

    Totally different.

DD1 - Labour began with irregular tightenings, pre labour stuff, high whole tummy action. No ROM until it was done in hospital.
DD2 - ROM first, with no labour, took 4-5 hours for labour to begin, another 3-4 for it to become established labour, then progressed through contrax intensity til birth.

ETA: Both were spontaneous, the first born at 41 +1 and the second at born 41 weeks exactly, but due to their lengths, means they actually started on the same gestation.

Mine were so identical. DS waters broke 7pm. First contraction 4am. Born 9:40. DD waters broke 9pm. First contraction 3am. Born 8:20am. With DD I also had a show that morning. Didn't have that with DS. But otherwise pretty much the same.

No not really all 5 labours were different, but had some similar things

#1- started with contractions, few hours later had the show, they broke my waters as her head crowned
#2- they broke my waters and gave me the drip to start contractions, lost show during labour
#3- waters broke at home at night, no contractions, so the next day gave me drip to start contractions, lost show during labour
#4- lost show few hours before contractions started, waters never broke baby was born in the sack
#5- contractions started, lost show during labour, waters broke during labour

    That was the quick version
Good luck hunni, hope this is the real deal!!!

    All were slightly different.

DS1 i lost my plug some time the week before things begun. One night went to bed with the faintest of twinges and woke up at about 2am with them stronger and regular. By morning things were on their way. DS was born 4 days before his due date.

DS2 i can't remember when i lost my plug but over the days prior to the birth i'd had some twinges, very irregular and nothing that convinced me anything was going to happen. I woke up on the Tuesday morning feeling nothing at all, told DH to go to work then when i was in the shower my waters broke. I had no other signs of labour at that stage but at a scheduled GP appt i was told i had to go to the hospital to be induced as i had merconium in my waters. By the time i was organised and on my way contatctions had begun. DS was born 1 week prior to his due date.

DD i'd had some ewcm but not a lot and nothing that i thought was my plug. I'd had a lot of twinges on and off but it was all false signs of labour. I'd had days of feeling so comfortable and i was starting to worry i'd go over. Woke up one night/morning because i couldn't sleep so i got up. Sitting at the computer i felt tightenings across my belly that were different to what i'd been feeling prior. They come and went but were in a way quite gentle. This carried on throughout the next day, getting only slightly stronger. By 5pm things were really happening. DD was born day before her due date.

Hope things happen for you soon, the waiting and anticipation is so frustrating. Can't wait to hear your little one is in your arms

No totally different for me each time.

With DD, my waters started leaking, but didn't progres so I was induced.

With DS1, I lost losts of my plug, but it took a few weeks to go into labour, I had heaps of pre labour and mild contractions for about 2 weeks until I went to hospital for some pain relief to be told I was 8cm dialated, waters were broken and I gave birth about an hour later!!

With DS2, I lost bits of my plug for about a week, but no pains, then went into labour with mild contractions the morning he was born at about 5am, slowly progressed all day, and gave birth at 11pm.

If you mean the weeks and weeks of pre-labour prep from my body.. then yes. It did.

Otherwise, I can't rightly tell where it ended and active labour began. LOL

    Mine were different.

DS1 waters broke at 28 weeks, pre-laboured for 2 weeks and woke up one morning with solid contractions, he was born 30+1.
DS2 I went into pre-term labour at 26 weeks and managed to hold on (thank goodness for drugs) till 34+2 when the contractions got too much. He was born at 34+3 and they broke my waters about an hour prior to birth.
