Did you have any success with S & S from 38.5weeks?

I am currently 38.5 weeks and am about to go to an appt with my OB.

I am desperate to not be induced with this baby, but I am having excruciating back and hip pain, for which I had some Chiro treatment last night, which helped to ease it a bit, but basically my hip is so stiff and being so heavily pregnant, we can only take things slowly on that front.

My question is, did anyone have a stretch and sweep done from 38 weeks onwards with any success? I am trying to figure out whether I want to ask if it can be done at this appt.

I had an S&S done at 39wks2days because I was 4cm dilated already and had been having BHs consistently for 2 straight weeks. All the S&S did was make my contractions go irregular, and because I started losing my mucous plug in drips and drabs after that, I didn't have a 'clear' sign as to whether something was genuinely happening or not. In the end, I was induced because Charlie was in distress, but in hindsight, I don't think the S&S helped me along, in fact probably hindered my natural progress.

Hey Relle,
Have you tried any other natural induction methods? eg EPO and nipple stimulation.
