You know how if you're not feeling well and you have diarrhea, your stomac gurgles heaps? Well is this the case with diarrhea before labour too, or do you just get the diarrhea without the tummy carry on?
I've had it on and off for the last couple of days, sometimes with the tummy carry on and sometimes without, so I don't know if I've eaten too much junk today and sat around doing nothing and that's causing my tummy to do all this gurgling, or if it is to do with pre-labour.
Can't tell you from experience, Joey, because I haven't had "The Big Cleanout" before labour myself
I imagine it would be the same. If you think about the reason for the gurgling - could be just the fluid and some gassy bubbles moving quickly through your gut - I imagine it'd be the same regardless of the cause of the diahorrea.
As far as I'm aware, it's not uncommon to feel nauseous before/during labour too. That was my experience last time round - felt really sick in the tummy once contractions started.
GL - I hope this means things are getting moving for you!!!
The diarrhoea before labour is not usually accompanied with gut pain but you might get cramping like period pain. Its generally the uterus stimulating the bowel (or it can be vice versa) But like everything to do with pregnancy and birth everybody will experience something different so your baby might just be getting ready for action
Yeah I had the runs both times - and I did have that sick gurgly feeling - with DD1 it was the day before I went into labour, with DD2 it was while I was in labour.
All the best for your upcoming birth!
Our household (DH & 2 boys + MIL cos she was staying) had gastro the days before leading up to Ruby's birth. The early hours of the day she was born I was up with what I assumed was a dose of i,t but as it turned out it was the early labour clean out
Yep......ive got it....and im my EDD is today......never had it with my other impending births.....
Ive had it for about a week now. MW said its prob coz baby pressing right down on my bowels, causing me to go sooo much more often, or it could be the body getting ready for the iminent birth. Either way i cannot believe how much toilet paper this household has gone thru in the last week....
I had the runs before labour and during the first stage of labour - but never gut pain. I got a slight "period pain" thing, but that was my cervix stretching.
I knew I was in trouble when I wiped after going to the toilet for the three millionth time and there was blood! I was committed to the cause then!
Everyone is different though - just remember that.
