    Coccyx displacement in labour?

Hello ladies I was just wondering if its true that if you have already broken your coccyx bone that it will happen again in labour?
I have broken my coccyx when i was 17 and dislocated it again when i was 22 so do I have any luck of keeping it in place? Is there anything I can do to prevent it misplacing or getting hurt.
    Thanks so much.

    Hi Lauren
It would depend on the position that the coccyx bone healed in. If the bone is pointing forward then there is an increased risk of it breaking however later in your pregnancy a hormone called relaxin starts to be released. This hormone loosens all the joints and ligaments so this will help by making your coccyx more flexable.

i had previously fractured mine at 17 too! i re-fractured in having DD1, but it was fine for DD2. So i guess it can happen but not every time.

Thanks so much for your replys!
Im not sure if it healed in the right spot. Is it worth getting it checked? I do have a physio who specialises in coccyx problems and pregnancy so maybe i should book ap?

i don't know if this helps because i haven't been pg. i have been having a lot of pain with my coccyx lately and i found a doctor that does laser light magnetic therapy. it is none invasive and helps so much. google some info on it and see if you can find someone to do it as it really helps a lot.
