Did your first bubs arrive on EDD?

    Hi,

For all those that are mothers already, i just wanted to know when your first baby arrived? Did it come early or late.

I've been given the impression most first baby's come later than 40weeks. Is this true?

I'm expecting my first but started thinking, maybe he'll come early!? I had planned to stop work at 36 weeks but the boss thinks i'm staying on until 38 weeks. I would like to have some time to myself before the little one arrives. Plus, i have so much to do around the house before then and need to earn a bit more money before i finish up to be able to get things done.

Let me know how many weeks your first baby was when you gave birth

With my first, I went into labour on his due date, and he arrived the next day....

He is the only one to even come close to his EDD though!!! All the others have been 40 + er's....

    I had DS1 at 39wks exactly and I had DS2 at 39wk2d.
I really had high hopes that DS2 would wait just cause I wanted him to but nope. Lol. He was in a major hurry.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your pg.

Ds was born at 39 wk3d according to the doctors, but according to my calculations it was 40wk5d. But either way, not on the EDD.

My DD arrived at 38+2. i stopped work at 35 weeks thinking that i would have loads of time up my sleeve to relax (had a really stressful job) and to get ready for DDs arrival.

in the end i had just over 3 weeks and although it sounds alot, it can be really weird having them come early, as like everyone is quick to tell us first-timers...we *tend* to go over...was completely shocked as it didnt enter my radar that i would be one of the girls going early.

i too was going to work up until 37 weeks, but i guess intuition told me to go earlier!

DS was born at 39 wks exactly... and I stopped work at 38 weeks... I was convinced by everyone saying 1st timers go late that iw ould be sitting around twiddlinv my thumbs so i worked til then... and then he came, and FAST!!!
so i think it is true the majority of 1st timers may be late, but dont count on it!

also, if like me you think it is great career wise to work later dont worry a bout it, no one remembers or thinks you are a hero for doing it - next time i will stop earlier!!

DD was born at exactly 39 weeks.

Both doc and MW think this one will be earlier, but who really knows?

I'm having my first, and bubs is already 2 days overdue - so hopefully i don't have too much longer to wait. I recommend finishing up as early as you can as it is amazing how much more relaxed i am now after having time off at home. I can have a nap if I am tired and haven't felt like I have been rushing around at all. I think this will (hopefully) make my labour and birth a bit easier

DS come at 37+5wks, i finished up work at 36wks so i had about 10 days to myself. I also honestly didn't think he would come early because there is no family history of early bubs, all were either on time or late so it didn't even enter my mind.
