How exciting for SA mums-to-be![]()
I just received this!!
Hi all
After many years of preparation anticipation and waiting, I have just
heard that the WCH MGP have finally received the official go ahead
from the SA Dept of Health and CYWHS to start their homebirth service.
The MGP still has some final details to sort out before women can
officially book/plan a homebirth through them, but we should expect
the service to be up and running (and women to be therefore able to
book, if they meet the criteria) sometime early in 2009. (I believe
that, to start with, 2 of the MGP groups will take on homebirths).
Note that currently this MGP is an all-risk model and takes 1,000
women per year, which is 1/4 of the WCH bookings.
I have been told that it this is currently limited knowledge but can
be shared publicly.
