    Hobart Birth Options

Ok I researched all my options for birthing in Launceston but it looks like we may be moving to Hobart prior to bubbies arrival and I have no idea what's going on down there- I think there is a birth centre at the hospital? Does anyone know if there are birth pools available? Any feedback on options. Homebirth isn't looking too appealling as the place we are going to be moving to has a lot of "issues" which make it tricky. I am super low risk and having third bub (I am 26 weeks currently)so don't need an OB.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I am having trouble navigating the forum for the suitable place...

    Hi Jessebean,
yes, the birth centre down there is attached to the hospital, if you are super low risk then you should be eligible to birth there (I think it is a little different to the one up here in Launceston though). I know of a doula in Hobart who has a birth pool that she *might* hire out (I am not sure if she does or not). Otherwise, the baths in the birthing centre might be an option (though obviously not as good as a birth pool). I did see some very cheap birth pools for sale ($100) through a company that had a major flood in their warehouse, but they may already all be gone. Let me know if you are interested in their email or in the contact details for the doula in Hobart with the birthpool, I can pm either to you.
    Good luck!
