Reborn's been on the phone this morning - she's in labour! She rang at 0630 and her contractions had been coming overnight, and were now 15 minutes apart. We decided I would still go to work and she would call me when she wanted me. Then she rang at 0745 and her contractions were stronger and only 10 minutes apart. Exciting!!
So it's off to her house now - I rang my manager to let her know I wouldn't be in, and I think she's more excited about the birth than I am, if that's possible!!
So please send labour vibes for Reborn, and I'll keep you all updated!
Sorry for the late update - someones hacked into our WIFI and we're over our download limit, so I can only use the net at work for a little while. Buggers!
Anyways, Reborn was getting strong, regular contractions yesterday morning. These had started the night before, so she was already tired. She didn't think her waters had broken, but she was losing fluid, so she thought maybe it was a slow leak rather than a gush like her last birth. Last time she was GBH +ve, and had to go straight in when her waters broke for the antibiotics, so we went down again.
She was monitored for 3 or 4 hours, during which time the contractions went from her stomach to her back for a while, and then back to her stomach. The midwife said that she didn't appear to be losing amniotic fluid, and she is GBH -ve this time, so sent her home
Needless to say, she's a bit frustrated. She's 37+4, so bubs isn't quite cooked yet, but the contractions still haven't stopped and she can't sleep, poor thing. She googled it last night and realised this pre labour can keep going for weeks, so she's not a happy camper!
Thanks for the labour vibes ladies - this was just a test!
Oh the poor thing, hope the pains let up soon for her! Or else have done all the hard work so that when labour starts for real, it will be nice and short!
Her contractions are between 7 and 12 mins apart, lasting for about a minute. We're still at home, and she's currently swaying to Meat Loaf through contractions
With her last labour she was told she had to go straight in because she was GBH +ve, and she just told me that she likes this labour so much better because she's not in hospital yet!
