I've read abit about this practice, waiting for the uterous to compact and move baby before you start pushing, I like this idea, but, what I dont understand is during the hour or 2 that you wait/ hold off pushing are you in the transition intense contractions and pain or does that get less. I know at that point for me, I just wanna get baby out, how do you stop? if you are in that much pain?
hmmmm I don't know much about birthing down as such but I do know about breathing down, maybe it's the same thing? I practiced hypnobirthing breathing before my labor and I didn't actively 'push' at all by breathed if that makes sense. I felt the pressure and the urge to push so to speak but I just worked with the waves (contractions) and didn't do any extra or intense pushing. Hard to explain I guess.
How do you calm down, relax and deal with the pain enough to do that? Normally Im really not coping at all and cant relax.
I really want to be able to relax and calm down at this point, it feels lik an important thing to manage to do so all tips tricks and hints are most welcome.
Where I am My DH is the only support I will have. Hes kinda the silent type but great at rubbing my hand. Birthing here isnt the same experience we can expect or ask for at home, so I gotta be edumacted before the day
Mmmmm, I havent heard of the term at all but like cherished1, for my second birth I didn't really push at all. It was a long 1st stage (nearly 36 hours from start of induction to end of 1st stage), which ended in an amazing thrust of head into birth canal, then I changed position to all fours (to reduce tearing) and didn't push. My body seriously did it all for me. 10 mins later bub was born.
My first birth was induced too, yet I actively pushed for 45 minutes. Totally different second time round. May have had something to do with being in a standing position?
