I think it was closer to 10 hours, possibly a bit longer.

Which is NORMAL.

Active management of labour (which is where the 1cm per hour drivel comes from) is based on a single study conducted in Ireland in the 1970's. It's a load of hogwash but yes, that doesn't mean it's not standard practice in our hospitals

If mum and baby are happy and well, it takes as long as it takes. And if it takes a long time...then....that's how long it takes!! Seems so simple doesn't it.
