How long until castor oil starts to work?

I am naughty and had 3 teaspoons of castor oil in a glass of coke at 11:15am. I read it takes about 3 hours, just wanted to be sure. I am not getting any laxative symptoms from it as of yet other than after drinking it my tummy was making all these guzzling sounds. I am a strong gutted person and I think there is still a teaspoon of the oil still sitting in the bottom of the glass so I might take another teaspoon after I get confirmation of how long it takes to work....Not game to try anymore than the recommended though because it seems that is when you run into trouble.

Juz is sick of being used for sex I might talk him into it anyway Annie. It is unfortunate that the fruit falls from the tree when it is ripe. I am just partial to giving that fruit a little nudge to see

Princess I am starting to think it isn't working for me either other than more BH.

I managed a BM but it wasn't soft or anything, so maybe the dose of castor oil I took was not strong enough? I am not really game to try anymore because of some of the stories I have read on what can go wrong.. Like I said I am really only willing to give it a nudge and not a push.

I would never use castor oil because if it worked, it would suck having diahorea in labour! Messy! LOL... I have heard it to work well though when baby wasn't coming down during labour and mum was constipated, it apparently did the trick!!!

Hahah I am worried about diarreah in the delivery room that is another reason I won't have more than the recommended dose. I am going to go for a nap now and I might have that one teaspoon that got away followed by a hot shower and if it doesn't do the trick then it isn't meant to happen today. I really want to avoid a medical induction if at all possible so if all this stuff I have done at least softens everything up then it was all worth it even if I go a week over.

I tried the castor oil, and went into labour about 24 hours later. I made the mistake of taking it in the late afternoon and was up most of the night on the toilet. My advise take it in the morning so you don't miss out on sleep.
