I am so surprised by my midwife's attitude!

A good surprised too! She is awesome and I am so glad I decided to go with the birth centre instead of an OB/Private hospital like the last two times

At my 20wk chat on Friday I brought up the one stressing thing in this pregnancy for me - if bub is breech when I go into labour. I know that majority of hospitals consider that an automatic csection and after 2 very easy vaginal births I felt like the very small possibility of that happening nearly broke my heart.

But I was wrong She said that the OBs that work with the BC midwives would "educate" me on the reasons to have a csection with a breech bub but that if I chose to vaginal birth they wouldnt stop me. She will support me 110% the whole way through if nothing we do shifts his position. The only downside is Id have to birth in the delivery suite as opposed to the BC but if thats the difference between a csection and vaginal birth Im all for it. I could have kissed her truly!

Nice to see that little by little attitudes are changing! Yay for small steps!

That's awesome Anna! So great to see a carer genuinely interested and knowledgeable about breech, instead of just making understanding noises now and backflipping totally when the time comes. YAY for you and your mid!

Hi Anna, i was the same as you, i had had two great NVB and my fear was if this one was breach i would have a fight on my hands to not have a CS. Well i asked my Homebirth MW and she was like "we can still have the baby at home!" The only issue would be if it was very early as then the head can be bigger than the bum and the babys bottom can be delivered before you are ready and then the head wont deliever.....
Anyway baby turned, so all was easy but it was so nice to just hear "yes, you can do it"
