If your waters broke the first time before labour, did they the second time??

My waters broke about 12 hours before I started to go into pre-labour, labour never really established and I ened up with c/s 22 hours after waters breaking.

I'm desperate for them not to break before labour this time so I can stay home as long as possible (my baby was really high & not engaged so ob wanted me in once waters broke) and get my VBAC.

    What were your experiences? TIA

With dd1 they broke at 34 weeks, she was breech so I had a ecs.

With dd2 I leaked hind waters but my waters were broken by my ob. I think I went to the hossy to early but I still had a vbac.

With Ds my waters broke at home, only just made it in time to give birth. He was technically a vbac too even though I had done it once before. The midwives didn't realise as it was all happening so fast which was fine by me no monitoring, blood work or drippy thing in my hand. Would rather it wasn't quite so fast though, it was over in an hour.

Both times my water broke before labour.
As soon as you're in hospital you're on a countdown. With that in mind if I was to birth again (I hope not to) I would take my time getting to hospital. They usually want to admit you so they can give you ABs but you don't have to stay - you can go home and return for your ABs.
My hospital's protocol was to ring them when your waters broke and let them know that you're on the way in but there's no need to rush out the door - take your time and walk heaps and once you're there keep walking.

Nope. Mine broke about half hour before contractions started with DD1.
When I had DD2 they did ARM just as she was crowning.
DS's waters broke after about an hour of contractions.
DD3 I think they broke about 1 - 2 hours before she was born, so about 10 hours into a 12 ish hour labour.

DD1 - waters broke 20min before she was born (9hr total labor)
DD2 - waters broke 8min before she was born (5hr total labor)

So with both of mine the contractions did the work and waters broke not long before arrival
Not sure if that helps hun...

DS1 they ruptured spontaneously at 28 weeks even, he was born at 30+1wks.
DS2 they were broken by ARM about an hour before he was born, well and truly in active labour lol.

DD1 broke and she was born 2 hours after they broke, ctx started 45 min after they broke.
DD2, I had a number of leaks, but was in completel denial about it , was having ctx 10min and less from 28 weeks, further appart from 22 weeks so not counting thouse, fluid levels were dropping low, but would then regenerate, until 35 weeks, there was no amniotic fluid left and ctx were 3-5 min appart... not a good example

No - DD1 they broke 12 hours before labour started and I ended up with emergency C/s. DD2 I was in established labour with 2min apart contractions when they broke.

With DD they broke spontaneously, contractions started immediately (1.5 mins apart!). She was born 4.5 hours later.

With DS they broke in the birth pool about 20 mins before he was born!

With DS, my labour started with my waters breaking (had to go straight in for c/s for placenta praevia).
With DD, they didn't break until the midwife did it when I was about 8-9cm.
