    Question labour and pelvic pain

so having pelvis issues, seeing osteo for, but was wondering how things like SPD and other pelvic issues affected having an active labour!
rocking, standing, squatting etc...worried the pelvic pain may stop me from having the labour im after.

I wonder if the hormones rushing through your body won't help counteract some of those issues when it comes to labour? I imagine standing would perhaps create the most issues, but then that's just my experience, I had no desire at all to stand in labour, I'm an all fours kinda labourer.

    Nope

I found the most comfortable positions to be in were standing and kneeling and sitting on fitball. On my back was horrible and side wasn't much better either.

I had shocking pelvic pain when pregnant with DD (could barely move and almost in tears at times so I suspect SPD or something close to it). Because of that I was dreading labour too! and worried on how I would go when I could barely move! but somehow that didn't even play a small part..I guess labour just takes over!..I found sitting great too.

You have a lot of endorphenes rushing around your body during labour so they will help ease any pain aswell.

I had SPD with DS2 and it didn't affect me in labour either, it didn't even occur to me at the time LOL!

As long as you aren't doing uneven or asymmetric things, you'll probably be fine. And if you squat, make sure it is a supported squat. Being on your hands and knees during labour and delivery when you have SPD is a blessed relief.

I reckon also labouring in a bath would be good for it too and even a waterbirth if your hospital permits it.
