last weeks of pregnancy dragging on

Can anyone else on the forum relate to the feeling that it just feels like labour is never going to happen and that their due date feels ages off?

I am due on the 1st of Feb and am starting to get really impatient for these last couple of weeks to hurry up. Even though I am dreading going through labour for the 4th time

Oh to be pregnant again! I was CONVINCED that I would never go into labour and that I was going to be pregnant forever - literally. Then my waters broke at 38 1/2 weeks. And now she's over 4 months old! I promise you, it WILL happen. Enjoy it, hey. If you're not working (which I was lucky enough not to be), enjoy your sleep (as well as you can with the achey back/pelvis and heartburn!). Believe me, you'll miss it!

Oh yeah, I can identify with that one - it just feels like time slows almost to a standstill.

Hang in there - you'll have a lovely new bubba very soon!

It's such a frustrating time isn't it?! Are you able to get out of the house and have lunch with your girlfriends or get your hair done etc?? Have a bit of you time if you can... it might make time go a little quicker. As you will already know you won't get much time for anything when bubs comes plus with you having 3 other gorgeous kiddies there to take care of too I think you should pamper yourself

I was the opposite. My Dr offered to speed things up and I declined.I enjoyed my last few weeks of being pregnant. Mind you this was my first so I dreaded labour and tried to enjoy the last few weeks of no responsibilies.

Today I just finished my last exam (for a sum semester course) of my undergrad degree. Now the baby has permission to come out...I bet he won't

Saying that, keeping myself busy with uni during this stage in my pregnancy (been pregnant 4 times through my undergrad...DON"T DO IT), never created the best diversion.

I always want the whole business to be over by around this time, pending on how hot summer is (thank god for ducted air con this time) also because of all the aching and peeing and not being able to roll over in bed etc. It could not go quick enough right now...and no exam to study for or panick about is def. going to send me round the bend

The end is such a head game :hugs:

I know for me I spent about 8 months fretting about the birth, by the time I got to the 9th month the prospect of staying pregnant was far more horrifying to me than anything I could possibly imagine about labour

Hang in there not too much longer now.

I have 5 weeks to go until my planned c section and the time can not go fast enough! I told my Ob that if he wanted to deliver earlier he would get no complaints from me! I think I am looking forward to the "holiday" in hospital more than anything! Of course I can't wait to meet the little guy that has been kicking the cr*p out of me for the last few months. THink I may have blocked out the sleepless nights, worry, exhaustion etc that goes with it!
