Tell me all about...Evening Primrose Oil.

So I've just bought a bottle of EPO capsules...so what now? How many should I take, and how many should I (DF lol!) be inserting? What did you do?

I was taking 2, twice a day & inserting two. I'm not sure if they helped but I had a straight fwd labour & birth so would def use them again and raspberry leaf tablets.

Thanks hun Question re inserting two...is it just, ahh, one after the other? Lol! I assume at night, so it won't leak out.

Yes Hun at bedtime & I just pushed one in after the other as high up as I could. It does get pretty messy so wear a panty liner.

I orally took the advised dosage on the bottle and inserted 3, same as babyluv, just put them inone at a time, as high inside as you can. And I second the pad, definately wear one!

Hmm maybe that's what I did wrong? I only used one. A liner is a must

Sorry for the strange question, but I never heard of inserting or taking EPO, can someone explain it to me please? Is it supposed to assist in labour?? If it is I definitely want to know about it!!

    Thank you!

    Good Luck PZ!!

It's supposed to soften the cervix for labour.

Did two a night for my last pg along with raspberry leaf tea and had a straight forward 8 hour labour. My cervix was soften and ready to go for about two weeks prior. Will be doing it again this time.

Hard to say. I did RLT from 30 weeks (two cups increasing to 6) and EPO from 35. (two and two)

Baby arrived 11/12/13 days past EDD, labour was long but easy enough. RLT is supposed to increase efficiency of second stage. I was pushing for 2 hours 20, so can't imagine what might have happened if I didn't take it!

Given my time over, I'd do it all the same.

I think it helped me, first bub, 1 week early, active labour was about 5ish hrs. Pushing for approx an hr. I took raspberry leaf tabs, so much easier than drinking tea and also took epo as well as inserting. Will be using both next time!
