Mother's labour experience - any links?

Are there any links (anecdotal or otherwise) about how long your own labour will be in comparison to your own mothers? My mum was in labour with her first (me) for only five hours, and her mother was also similar in terms of a relatively quick labour - so I'm wondering if I'm likely to have a speedy one too?

Hmmmm, well I don't know if this will help or not, but I certainly can't go on my mums labour.

I was first, 2 days before due date, and a very long labour, almost two days.
My sis was second, at 37 wks, labour only 4 hours - she was out in a flash!
My bro was born emergency c/s at 32wks.
And my other bro was born VBAC after 6 hours labour, at 42wks.

So if I based my labour on my mum, I'd have a range to choose from!

I think my answer would be, probably not. But I guess its possible. Would love to hear from others who found this to be true
