Hey guess what? I'm more pregnant today than I've ever been. I'm proud of that.
:clap::clap: Yay! Congratulations! :dance::dance:
I am looking forward to your BA! You can do it!
LOL Spring, we should ask for one of those ticks.
Hun, women and babies have been working together in the journey of birth since time began, and it will continue like this till the end of time. I KNOW you have it in you and you will bring this new babe earthside all on your own
:cheer: :bluecheer: :cheer: :bluecheer:
:leap:
Good luck Spring! Am thinking of you and sending lots of labour vibes your way! You can do it hun :leap: xxx
I am sooooo proud of you hun  One step closer. You are doing a great job
wooo hooo springy!!!!
You're all so sweet, I really do appreciate each post that you make.
Well had a growth and wellbeing scan, Bub is.... wait for it 3879kgs :o give or take 500grams. I know scans aren't very reliable but TBH it doesn't scare me, big bubs mean healthy bubs to me so bring on the chubby bubby.
All else seems well. I'm just totally exhausted. I have a couch waiting for me.
Spring xx
That's good to hear Spring. You do make sure you rest up thought wont you?
Of course you can Lenny!
Just popping in to send you some positive vibes & lots of strength Spring....although you've got it in bucket loads already I reckon. Just focus on harnessing the beauty and courage you already have inside.
Great news about your scan too!
Rest up xx
Just sending some more congrats and good thoughts for you! yay for the scan, great to know bubs is healthy...and chunky :)
You have many wise owls giving you wonderful advice and inspirational messages....i second all that (and wish id said it myself :) ).
HUGS
Thanks guys. I have an ob appointment today and I'm positive induction is going to come up. DH is getting off work so he can come with me thank God. I think he felt horrible he couldn't be there for me last time given how upsetting it was. I'm almost certain they will offer a S&S but I'm going to say no (yet again )
I'm not feeling nervous, just hope it isn't the same ob as last week.
I'll update later in the afternoon.
Spring.
Good luck SA :) Just gently deciline all his offers :)
DO you mind if you have a Christmas baby?
Don't mind a Christmas baby at all Tanya.
ETA: Thankfully DS is young enough that we could re-schedule Chrismas for a few days later. I actually think a Christmas baby is kind of exciting.
Best of luck today Spring :). You are doing SO well, I'm very proud of you :D
Sending you some labour prayers and vibes. Here's hoping for a Christmas baby!
Woot! a christmas baby would be awesome! :D
Keep relaxed and start dancing!!! That'll bring bubs on ;)
You're so strong Spring xxxx
You are doing so well! Stand firm - you will get there. So glad your DH is on the same page and a support for you. Won't be long! xxxx
Spring - very pleased DH will be there with you today. Stay strong and continue to walk the path that you are most comfortable with. Don't let them distract you from your goals
You are doing well Spring - staying strong and sticking to your plan. Bring on the chubby bubby for christmas!! At least the hossy would be nice and quiet ;)
Hope the app went ok for you today and you didnt have a bad experiance like last time!! A christmas baby would be lovely!
Hugs!
Ok guys, temptation is setting in.
A question, is a S&S a form of induction? I know it might sounds stupid but TBH I don't know if it is formally a type of induction. Will it impact the labour like ARM or the drip? Eg make you go from 0 to 100% instantly. Will it have the negative effect such as higher chance of intervention?
Thanks.
Spring
You must have posted at the same time i did. i had a S&S and i wouldnt have it next time. I did find that i missed all the little things that led to a natual labour.
I had the S&S at 7am, had a walk and a sleep and then at 4pm i suddenly had strong contractions, i may have been being a sook but it was suddenly 4 mins apart and was having trouble talking during them.
Oh wow Beck, how many weeks were you? How long did your labour end up lasting? I had a S&S with DS two and it didn't do anything except I lost my plug.
My appointment isn't for another hour and a half though. So I have time to think some more.
Hi SA, sending you warmth, love and gentle hugs
I had a S&S with DS when I was 3cm, I went into labour about 12 hours later. I had 2 (or was it 3  ) S&S with DD all a week apart (I know, I know, some of you reading this will be horrified, but they were all totally MY choice). I was 3cm but I just stayed 3cm for about 3 weeks and DD came when she was ready, about a week after the last S&S. So I'm no help at all with a very mixed bag of results.
Oooh, sending you loads of positive labour vibes!
My good friend had a S&S - she was 41.5 weeks. She had it done at midnight, and at 8am went in to labour. Her DD was born two hours later, with no further drugs or intervention. She had previously had a 7 hour labour (all natural) with her first child. So, in her case, I think the S&S just gave the whole process a nudge.
Best wishes with you decision - you are soooo brave.
Thanks for your experiences guys. Going to chat it over with DH and just play it by ear.
Feeling rather confused about it all. Hopefully I have the 'nice' ob today.
Lv Spring xx
I'm back.
The world works in mysterious ways. After being pressured into an induction last week, today I had the best young female ob. Not keen to do anything yet (including S&S) and said that her opinion was just to let my body do it's thing. Suggested RLT and going for long walks.
I've got monitoring lined up over Christmas and my next appointment isn't until the 30th which will be my EDD. I didn't realise, I've always thought it was the 31st so I'm one day ahead of where I thought I was  At my next appointment she said we could begin discussing the back up plan of induction although she said not to worry at all about it over Christmas.
So feeling pretty darn happy, it is amazing the difference a low intervention ob can make to your confidence.
Spring xx
:hooray:
I like this OB!
Now enjoy your christmas...maybe you'll get a lovely extra present
Awesome! I'm so glad you saw such a great Ob :D
*Sends Santa an extra-special Christmas present request for Spring* ;)
Spring I'm so glad to hear you had a lovely and supportive OB. Lots of positive vibes still coming your way
Oh spring that is absolutely fantastic that you had such a lovely ob appt. What fantastic news that you and your little one are travelling along so nicely. We always have a few babies born on Christmas day at work and it is really special. Last Christmas I was a midwife for 3 different births - boy did I run that shift but they were all beautiful births.
Don't worry about the size of bubby. I think bigger babies are easier because they help. DS was 4400gm and was easier than DD who was 3850gm.
You are going to do the most amazing job giving birth to your little one. I can't wait to see your BA. I'm going to go out on a limb and pick a NYE babe for you, just before midnight. Last BB baby of the year.
Sounds like a great appointment! and a great OB. glad you feel good about how things went! Let you body do its thing and im sure bubs will be out in no time without any outside help!! lets hope you get the same OB again!!
And in answer to your question (not that it makes any difference now :) ) i was 41+2 so pretty much ready to pop anyway!
Have a nice relax. I had some accupuncture in the last week, dont know if it made any differnce but it was very relaxing and good to have some time to focus on the baby and get my head in the right spot!! IYKWIM. xx
:leap:
That's such good news Spring! I second Beck on the acupuncture, I think it helped me get my head in the right spot too - nothing like being treated as a human pincushion to get you in the right space for labour  I was 41+3 but labour started spontaneously (although I had chickened out of induction that day).
Time for another big red tick!
Second goal - to avoid even thinking about a S&S until at least 39 weeks. Big fat red tick.
Thanks for the tips on the accupuncture guys. Deb and Michelle can attest to my needle phobia, I faint every time I have needle so the thought of accupuncture makes me feel so so anxious. Might keep it in the back of my mind as a back up plan though.
Only two more days until I can tick off my third goal.

Well Done!!! Your doing amazingly. So scrap the accupuncture!!! but i have heard of the same thing but with massage...accupresure i guess. Something to think about.
Looking forward to seeing what you next goal is! I know you can make it. and you will have plenty of distractions over the next few days so im sure that will help!:clap:
