Thanks so much beckos and Sneaky.
Feeling a bit down ATM. I've had good friends and strangers alike feel the need to tell me that having a Christmas baby is terrible. Apart from the fact that I have absolutely no control over it, what an insensitive thing to say.
Just feeling like I want to snap back at them but trying to keep my mouth shut in the festive spirit. Thankfully it isn't any of my close family, just the extended one and some friends and some busy body fools in the supermarket. I heard it about 5 times yesterday and by the last time I felt like exploding.

 Happy Christmas to you Spring Angel!

Thanks Epacris, I hope your nieces have a wonderful 1st Birthday tomorrow.
I agree, it is a very special time to be born. I almost want to have bub tomorrow now just to shut them up.

Spring Christmas babies are the best present of all!
-
WTF?? What could be a better present than a bouncing bundle of joy!? How strange of your friends and family - I could think of nothing better than bringing a new life into the world on Christmas day!!!!!
Oh - and try acupressure or go see a osteopath - the osteo did a treatment on my belly the day before I went into labour ;)
-
I was a Christmas Eve baby and I can tell you it is great having a birthday close to Christmas! You will treasure that baby no matter when they are born, so ignore the doomsayers. They are probably just jealous because they wanted a new baby for Christmas and never got one:lol:
-
I think a christmas baby would be lovely, my cousin is a christmas baby and she just had a DD two days before christmas...and she thinks its a great time to have your birthday!! but im guessing you didnt pop yesterday!! :)
You shoud have asked what date thier birthday was and screwed your face up and appologised for them haveing a birthday on that day..... :)
Hope your feeling well!! x

Still here and starting to feel impatient :wall: I guess impatient isn't the right word, conflicted is more accurage.
I think I've made up my mind that at my 40 week appointment on Wed I'm going to get a S&S. If that doesn't get the ball rolling in a few days after that than I think I'll have reached my limit and get induced. I know a lot can happen between now and I could go into labour naturally any time, but I'm starting to get really down about it all. I feel very conflicted about getting baby out safe and sound as quick as possible.
I can however tick of my next goal to make it past Christmas.
Make it through Christmas - Big Red Tick.
Hopefully I'll be feeling a little more positive soon.

I am glad you feel decided... Now, you've made a decision about Wednesday - try & relax into your body. Enjoy the last short time left of this pregnancy - talk to your baby...
You are supported and loved.

You're doing so well Spring! :crossfingers: bub decides to come for you in the next few days.
All right Bubba - we're ready for you now! Come on down!
-
Thanks Inannna and Thepixie.
Thanks guys. I went and had a two hour sleep and I'm feeling much better for it. I just heard about someone I know due on the 9th who just had their baby. I'm due 9 days before then, I just want something to start happening soon.
Inanna: Sorry I didn't reply to your last txt last night, for some reason it came through really late. Yep I'm on RLT and EPO. You know about me and needles so I'm not going to do accupuncture but someone in here did mention accupressure. I might think about it in the next day or so.

Sounds like you have made a plan, and thats great, like inanna said, now you can relax a little knowing you have a path to follow!
Your doing so well, i can only imagine how your feeling, You should give yourself a big red tick every day! :)
Well done for making it through christmas! and wednesday is your next goal, your baby will be with you so soon!
Sending labour vibes to you...hugs.
-
oooo yes, at least one big fat red tick per day
-
Spring you are doing amazingly!!! I agree with the other girls, you deserve a huge big red tick for every day!!
-
Well girls, I don't want to get too excited but I think I might be starting to lose my plug. DH and I tried one of those natural induction methods this morning :bd: as the ob suggested and ever since I've been having a pink spotting and cm. I had cramps all night last night that kept me up.
I know it could be a while yet but even just these little signs is enough to keep me on track.
Spring xx
-
oh yeah oh yeah!!!! Now I'm getting excited Spring. Wishing you all the best hun...try and slip in another natural induction if you can  EPO as lube is great too

-
hmmm she hasn't been back...getting exciting...although I know when I was around my edd there were a few times ladies got excited if I hadnt posted for a few hrs lol
-
Oh Spring....thats great to hear, even if its still a while till you actualy go into labour, your body and baby are getting ready for the end of your pregnancy! You should be very proud of your self that you have managed to wait for things to start on there own, even if its a slow start ( or not so slow...fingers crossed :) ) things sound like they have begun on there own!!! CONGRATS!
Hope everything goes well for you, hugs and good thoughts!! xx
-
I'm still here. Just had family over for tea. No more movement at the station. Still some pink CM but no cramping as such.
I feel so much better just knowing that things are moving. It has given me the courage to go past 40 weeks. I keep telling myself I don't want to be hooked up to the drip, I don't want to be monitered, I want to be able to get in the shower, I want bub to choose their birthday.
It's getting me through for now.

Spring - Have you tried visualise actually going into labour? I have had shows with all my labours and once they appeared I found time just to relax and imagine my body and my baby getting ready. I would imagine my cervix thining and bub moving down. This seemed to work for me.
-
-
Great advice Bek. I'm about to go for a hot shower so I might try to visualise.
-
Good luck! Ill be thinking of you and bubs :) Im guessing you dont kow the sex so Im even more excited now to find out!
-
Oh Spring it is fantastic to read that your body is doing what it is meant to be and getting all organised for you to meet your gorgeous little bubba. You are doing an amazing job!! Letting your bubba choose their own birthday is amazing. Keep up the great work!!
-
Sorry no wisdom from me, but just wanted to let you know i'll be cheering you on Spring along with all the other lovlies here on BB

Well after such an eventful night on Monday night, last night, nuting, zilch. I actually slept quite well.
I've been pretty much staying at home 'in case' something happens but today I'm going to get out and go to a movie with a friend otherwise I think I'll go stir crazy.
Tomorrow I get to tick off my last goal. I think I'll go to my 40 week appointment, then come home and reassess my goals after talking to the ob. I've got at least a few more days in me.
A slightly disheartened Spring xx
ETA: Dedicated Mummy I do know the sex but DH and I have been keeping it a secret. Hopefully not long until I can tell you all.
-
Sending you "quiet calm labour vibes". You KNOW you can do this. One day at a time!
A New Year's Eve (or New Year's Day) baby would be wonderful! What a lucky child to have a turn of the year birthday!
Bubba will choose his/her own day and be here in his/her own time. You CAN do this!
-
Spring - enjoy your outing and movie! Congrats for ticking off all your goals so far. Perhaps a bit of a stroll around the shops whilst you are out and about may keep your mind distracted. It does sounds like your body is getting started though.... You can do this and you will! Take care and remember to be kind to yourself too. xx
-
Dont be disheartened!!! its great that you managed to get a good sleep, probably another thing your body is doing to get ready for labour....making sure you have the energy for it all! Sounds like everything is alligning!
Great idea about visulising it, i did that in my last few weeks, great way to get in the right frame of mind!!
im sure that you wont have to wait to long now! well done to you! your really doing such an amazing job! and i know you will keep on doing great!!!! hugs to you.
