I havent had a c-section but i have had major abdo surgery and i suffer from pain from scarred tissue and am on morphine. any operation causes scarred tissue and iv got to say unless its medically necessary i wouldnt. i had 18 years with no pain then ended up ill. im not saying everyone is the same but i wouldnt want anyone to go through this. xxxx

mel my labial tear hurt for longer than my second degree tear
:yeahthat: I had a second degree tear with DD2, & felt fine 4 days later, but had labial grazes with DD1 & it was aaaaages before i would go to the loo without an icepack handy to throw on straight after could be worth a try?

GoingtobebiginAsia... sounds like your recovery is taking a bit longer than you expected...but don't forget just because there was no surgery involved, doesn't mean you don't need time to rest & recover.... it is a damn hard thing that your body does!

Everyone is different, but for myself, I've had VB & CS & I would much rather the recovery time after a VB.

Good suggestions on here from the others, maybe try icepacks? I found they did wonders for me after my DD1....wishing you a speedy recovery

Ladies, thank you so much for all your replies.
I posted in utter despair because I was so sick of being in pain. There was no stinging just pain when I moved around.
I saw my GP yesterday and she had a look with the speculum. It hurt so much I went into shock and had to call DP up to the medical centre to help me walk home (one block). The GP didn't know what to do and referred me back to the hospital.
So after hour and hours of waiting at the hospital, I saw a gynecologist. She removed the stiches that hadn't disolved (and may have been too tight) and burnt off some granulated scar tissue. I feel SOOOOOOO much better today I could skip back to the hospital and kiss everyone there!
I KNEW a c-section is not the optimal way to go but I just couldn't see how I could do this again, especially while looking after a toddler as well. I am so lucky my DP has helped me so much and put up with my grumpiness and complaints. Now I know it's not normal I won't let it go on so long next time.

Glad you're feeling better . After an episiotomy, I had a granuloma that was a pain for months, despite repeated treatment. When it finally healed properly I was like a new woman LOL! I then really knew that it wasn't a normal recovery. it is hard work when you're so sore, but you forget it very quickly!

I have had two VB, and the first took me honestly around 10 months to recover from. The second took me about 3 weeks, til stitches dissolved.
Glad you went to GP though and its all sorted

Oh Janie, months sounds terrible. I hope I'm cured now. I'm too tired to deal with that again. And I'm a bit more sore today than I was on Thursday.
Fingers crossed it's all downhill from here.
    Thanks again everyone.
