Not sure what im feeling is anything..

When they say that labour starts off with period like cramps. Should they be regular pains or can it be a constant pain as well?

I'm currently having some pretty bad period like pains. Woke up with them at 8 this morning. They do subside a little but its been pretty constant.

I'm also feeling alot of pain in my pelvis..

Maybe i am just reading too much into it all LOL

Contractions are like pains in tummy which come to a peak, then release. They come and go. If it's a continuous pain, then it's probably your body doing silly things like pre-labour or something. Which is actually a good thing, but tiring and annoying lol. A heavy period type pain is quite common in this stage of pregnancy.

I still think that this is just more pre/early labour. Have a nice long shower, take some panadol and see if that makes a difference to them. If the panadol makes then go away or eases them right up, then it's not contractions because a panadol just doesn't cut it with real ones!

I never got period type cramps at all - so they may not necessarily feel like period cramps when it is real labour either - just to confuse you even more!!! I was told to go for a walk and if they ramp up, its real, if they die off, its just pre labour.

    Very exciting!!!

I had a lot of pre-labour which is exactly like you described. Real contractions come and go and there is no pain in between them. It's exactly like period pain (well it definitely was in my case anyway) but you have definite breaks in the pain. The pain doesn't just subside, it goes altogether.

Your body is doing a good job though. All the 'practising' can really help. Good luck, not long to go now!!

My second labour started with that period crampiness that didn't go away. It just kept getting worse and then developed into contractions.

The last two nights i have been woken by bad period type cramps. these blighters dont subside. When i went into labour with DD i also had period type cramps but they definitely had a 'wave' feel (in that they would come, peak and subside). HTH xx
