So I am starting to get a little bit stressed out because I can't find straight up answers any where. Here is my dilema:
A little over a week ago DF and I decided to have a planned induction on July 13th. We decided this because my parents scheduled a dive class the week before and after my due date. Granted, my parents did not make the best decision but I still want them there. So at my 37 week appointment Dr. did an internal and found that I am 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated (which I know does not mean anything). After the internal I bled for the rest of the day (which I was also told was normal). Then the very next morning I woke to find a glob of mucus in my underwear. It was only a little bit that day so I figured I only lost PART of the plug. Five days following that I had continuos cramps, extreme pelvic pressure, irregular contractions, and little bits of mucus. Last night (TMI) I felt something slip out of me while I was going to the bathroom. Looked into the toilet and saw a good quarter size of mucus. No blood in it just clear like jello. This morning (38 weeks) i am finding more and more mucus plug. Does it ever end! Also I am still having the cramps and pelvic pain. So what I want to know is does it sound like I might beat this induction? I really would rather birth naturally than this induction. also every where I read and everyone I talk to says they went into labor the week they lost theirs. What is going on with me? 6 days till induction!
Jessica - Some ladies have heaps of mucus plug and it can come out for weeks in varrying amounts before birth. All of your symptoms sound very promising but there is still no way to tell when you will go into labour. I understand you are very anxious, as I would be too. May I suggest that you take your focus off the induction date and maybe visualise your baby coming naturally. Take some time out to relax and just imagine. I personally don't think you've got long at all. If you are concerned about the aches and pains take a trip up to care provider to get a check up. LV's to you sweety
Bekz- thank you. I think I am really stressed out about this. I am mad that my parents took the risk in the first place. Now, DF got bad news that the time requested off was cancelled. So he has the first two days of the induction off and that is it
Maybe its' like when you're waters break. Mine broke and for 24 hours gushed out. I rang my cousin who's a midwife and she said the body keeps making more, so that's why it's never ending! Bizarre!
gosh i lost my plug a hour before labour started (was blood streaked)
How exciting for you!!! maybe you wont want your parents around when the time comes.. your mind can change
Gosh, if I were you I'd be telling my parents to cancel/re-arrange their 2nd dive class, before I booked an induction. They are the ones who screwed up - why should you and the baby have to pay for their mistake? You deserve to birth exactly the way you desire - without making compromises for other people. Without all this date/deadline bizzo running around in your head, it will be much easier for you to relax and just let nature take its course.
I'd be telling your folks that its your way or the highway!! Induction is not without risk and perhaps your parents need to realise how important it is to you to have the labour progress naturally and without undue stress. Maybe when they realise this they will be more accommodating?? Best of luck to you, but I personally think you deserve to put yourself and bub before your parents schedule.
Sounds like things could be happening All the best hun!
Mucous plug and amniotic fluid are re-generated by your body, thats how women can lose more than one plug and also how women (like myself) can last weeks after rupturing their membranes.
