Question Plug? Is it or isn't it!...TMI warning!

Well - last night I woke up at about 1:30 to pee and realised there was a tiny bit of jelly like mucous - probably the size of a 10 cent peice. DH and I are on the natural induction rollercoaster and DTD during the day yesterday so I wasn't too sure what it was and put it down to the DTD not my plug.

Cut to this morning and there was a long thick, I guess tampon shaped and sized jelly thing (Oh pregnancy is soooo glam) so I wonder if that is what it is?

I had acupuncture on Thursday and although it wasn't induction stuff, it was cervix ripening, which was followed by period like pain in my back all night Thursday night and then all day yesterday. It eased up alot after some massage and a nap, but is still slightly niggly on and off.

Soooooo I know there is a long road to travel yet but what do you think????????

Ooooh yeah Tan, it sounds like your plug for sure! I know you know it doesn't mean anything yet, but it sounds like your body is well on it's way to your VBAC! WOOHOO!

And of course, I know that things could still be a way off for you, but that doesn't mean I won't be obsessively checking the birth announcements this weekend Good luck sweets, thinking of you!

Thanks ladies! Janie that is it! I know labour isn't necessarily imminent BUT I do know that my body is doing what it is meant to do and that is making me teary as because it's what should have happened with my girl!

I'm also slightly (read: COMPLETELY) terrified - I hope it is still 2 weeks away so I get used to the idea of this actually happening the way it's meant to!

Tan, I started losing my plug at around 37wks with Alister and he was 4 days over his EDD, so it's only early days ATM and you may go into labour soon or you may hang on for a while longer yet. Either way your body is progressing along at a perfect rate.

Of course you're scared hun, that's completely natural You know, I had a VB with DS, but there are some things that I'm freaked about for next time. But you are so well prepared, mind and body, you really have given this your all. You have great support, and I'm feeling very positive for you

And mine actually is exactly what you descibed.... you know its not often women lose almost the entire plug in one lot (which to me sound like you have)

    means you cervix is opening!!

    Sounds great to me hun!

Your body is doing EXACTLY what it needs to do to get your boy out VBAC-style Sure, it might be a while, but it's happening they way it needs to. And don't worry about needing two more weeks - here's a scary thought - the BABY knows when you're ready, even if you do not.

    Mwah!

All positive things Tan, sending you much love for a speedy and safe labour and birth.

You will do just fine. Believe in your body and it's ability to birth your baby. You will do an awesome job when the time comes.
