Is this pre-labour or something else?

I've been feeling quite tight BHs for the last few days, and then today I've been really kind of... just feeling a bit 'off'. My tummy feels tight as if I've not drunk enough water (which I really am doing), kind of a lower-abdomen tightening, and this evening my pelvis is playing up (around the front where it's been painful before). I almost feel constipated, except I'm not at all.

I was a bit concerned about oedema yesterday (it was hot here) but although my ankles were pretty swollen last night, after putting them up for a while they got a lot better, and were almost 'normal' when I got up this morning. Fingers might be just a little chubby but it's hardly noticeable, so I don't think that's a concern, is it?

The main thing is how uncomfortable and almost nauseous I've felt. Baby is moving as normal. It's not really like the early labour I remember with S and T, and I also wasn't really expecting to go early, so I just wondered if I'm in for a couple more weeks of discomfort, or if it could be something else.

    Thanks for any thoughts...

I'm far from an expert, but it sounds like you body is definately getting ready for the big day. Unfortauntely it may not mean it will be in the next few days but I wouldn't be at all supprised if its not too far off.

Sorry I haven't really been much of a help, but stay positive and when you're feeling ok a walk maybe just what you and bubby need.
Take care and rest up. Wishing you all the best for the approaching labour.

I was going to say pretty much the same as Tiff.

Walking is a good idea. Just listen to your body...could still be a while, but it does sound like your body is getting ready.

How wonderful! Relax and go with it.

Thanks for the replies. Still feeling a bit ick tonight but better after eating - that might have been a bit of the problem, but I guess fingers crossed I'm going to try and get a good night's sleep tonight (no harm in being positive, I supppose!) and hopefully I'm one day closer to having this baby!
