Royal Women's Adelaide - Homebirth Starting in February!!!!

Just thought I would share!!

Hi all

Great news!! We have been told that we can announce that the Women's & Children's Hospital in Adelaide are officially starting their Public Homebirth Service on 1st February.

The service will run out of the current MGP (midwifery group practice). Our understanding is that from 1st February any woman who is currently booked with the MGP should be able to discuss the possibility of converting to a planned homebirth (she will need to meet the state homebirth policy low-risk criteria and a "homebirth" midwife will need to be available). New women booking into the MGP will also be able to do this.

We should all lobby our local members of parliament to get this happening in EVERY state... a step closer to TRUE CHOICE FOR WOMEN!!! Cos its more than just choosing vaginal birth or caesareans!!!!
