Absolutely starkers! same as when I used the bath with my first birth. Clothes only get in the way and once you get out you have to change them and if you want to get back in the shower, you have to put wet clothes back on or have another set handy. if you are worried about modesty, just put a towel over you.
You will be surprised at how little you care about people seeing you naked in the shower - I used a shower chair and just sat there in all my pg glory while DH stood with the shower head directing it where I told him to LOL.
I went in completely naked, and was in there for about 2 hours. It was absolute bliss! Even though I was hooked up to the ECG (or whatever it's called) they let me stay in there for that long.
I was heading to the shower but didn't quite make it (I found the toilet on the way and decided that was quite comfy!) I was only in my hospital gown so was going to go in nude!!
i was naked and was in there for 4 or 5 hours all up...
it was the best feeling, my lovely midwife stood there with me offering me drinks all the time and rubbing my back... i'd definately recommend it.. also take a fitball in there if they let you, with a non slip mat under it
Naked here too! I stripped off almost as soon as I got to the hossy and jumped in the shower. I couldn't have cared less, but maybe not everyone is that carefree early on in labour (I had to go in early as my bub was prem) - when my Ob arrived he popped his head in and seemed surprised to find me naked and sort of apologised. Obviously he wasn't bothered LOL, but he didn't seem to expect it.
Clothes in labour just feel wrong somehow I think, especially anything on the bottom half. I had to wear knickers and a pad when I was active cos my waters keeping leaking, but I would have preferred not to.
I was naked too except for my rubber flip-flops - I'm so paranoid about shared showers that even in labour I needed to have my thongs on (it must have looked pretty funny lol), but I put a hospital gown on when I was out of the shower.
