I was wondering if anyone is using/previously used SRC recovery shorts to aid with your post birth recovery.
I mentioned them to my midwife and she thinks they may be a good investment for me to use once my twins are born due to possible large stomach muscle seperation and the level that my skin has also stretched, plus as we will be having them by c/s it is suppose to support the c/s scar as well.
Before I spend the money on getting them I wanted to find out if you have found them beneficial to aiding your recovery, especially if you suffered from stomach muscle seperation.
I have them and they have helped my muscles come back together and help support me while I exercise and they are also good under clothes as they smoothe out the bumps and lumps. I'd recommend them from personal use. I rung them and discussed size with them as I am between 2 sizes and definately glad I went with the bigger size because they are really stretchy and tight.
Edit to add: Also the hospital physio recommended them to me and said they were great
I used the Pregnancy shorts and Recovery shorts. I found them both beneficial for my SPD. The Recovery shorts do help suck in the tummy, but it's not a miracle cure for the post-partum flab (so no looking like a supermodel 5 min after giving birth, sadly). They do help support the tummy muscles.
WinterRaven: I got DH to measure me and I'm at the lower end of an XL but the recommendation is to get the size down if this is the case. Did you find getting the larger size gave you more flexibility?? I'm not expecting to loose too much weight (apart from baby weight) after the birth as I have only put on 13kg's so far for this pregnancy and none of that has been on my body - it is just all baby weight, so maybe I should opt for the bigger size.
Also did you start wearing them immediately after giving birth (maybe not the first couple of days) or did you wait a week or so until all the post delivery swelling etc went away? I'm thinking that if I do get them that I probably won't start wearing them until I get home from hospital after I have recovered some what from the c/s.
I used both the pg and recovery shorts and found them excellent for my SPD. The recovery shorts are a pain in the bum to pull down each time you need to go to the loo, but worth it for the support. They don't magically get rid of excess flab, but I think my tummy flattened out (well, sort of!) much quicker this time then with my previous two pg's.
