Evening all, DP has told me she's had stomach tightenings. They've lasted about a minute or so and been about 9 -10 mins apart. This has happened 3 times now. She's 38.5 weeks and has said they aren't painful, just like all her stomach tightens then starts to relax.
This is our first bub and I'm not scared or worried, just curious as this is something new (she's had ALOT of Braxton Hicks contractions throughout her pregnancy, but nothing this regular). Is this a sign of things to come or just some pre-labour cramps?
Hmmm... might be more BH, I found i used to get runs of regukar ones at night. Keep an eye on them Either way, it's her body doing *something* which will most likely make labour quicker and easier.
I noticed with my last bub that the tightenings like that were also pretty much what you explained and didn't get closer together for quite a while... for me it was 12 hours from very start to birth. I think it was about 4 hours or so before they started being closer and more intense but not painful. All the best and I hope this is it for you!!
Sounds like your DP's body is getting its self ready good old pre labour
this is a great sign that her body is doing what it is ment to do. doesnt mean though that the laboue will be soon, can still be a few weeks away. Sorry to tell you.
