Thanks Alan! One of the homebirthers in my group "invented" it when they were waiting for the midwife (and couldn't cath' themselves) and was getting really uncomfy. Most folk had good success with it. I haven't tried it but i forgot to drink and pee for my (4 hours, not long really!) labour! The only time i sat on the loo she was crowning...i actually think the loo was a good place to labour!
