    Waters breaking?

Question for those who did not have the like-you-see-in-a-movie style of waters breaking, with the dramatic "pop" and "GUSH" of fluid running down their legs.

How did everyone else know their waters have broken?

Last night DH and I DTD to try and help things along a bit. This morning when I got up to have shower and get ready for my Obs appt (which is in less than 2hrs), I was blowing my nose when some drops of liquid ran down my legs. I wiped them with a tissue and got into the shower.

When I got out, I dried off and was combing my hair when it happened again.

The first time was a whitish colour but the second time was clear. Could this be the start of my waters breaking? Or could it be the remnant of our action last night??

Bearing in mind we went to bed at about 10.30pm... and I have been to the loo about 17 times between then and when I got up to shower...

If you suspect thats what has happen ring your carer now, they will be able to advise you, and if necessary the hospital can test it to see if thats what it is.

My waters only broke once - naturally.

Had been having contractions all day so i sort of had some idea that something might happen.
Thought i would go to the toilet and when i had finished and went to leave the loo i thought " oh hang on a minute - did i not finish properly or is this my waters breaking"???

It felt like i was wetting myself - not a gush, just running out. But it kept coming.

My BIL was there and he didnt know what to say - guess hed never seen a grown woman 'wet' herself.

Once that happened everything sped up.
Thats just my experience (DS#2) each one is different !

    Good luck !!

OP my waters broke in the middle of a contraction!

I was laying on four on the bed and DP was massaging my sacrum through the contraction, I felt a pop and felt like I was about to let go of some seriously explosove diarrea... but it was just my waters...

GL sweets, I hope this is it!! Can't wait to see you B/A!

OP, I'm wondering the same thing today. I should have worn undies to bed last night! lol. When I woke up I thought I'd wet myself, lol. I was all wet in between my legs and down my legs a bit!! And we didn't DTD last night. It was just like a clear liquid. Nothing major since then so maybe it's just more discharge than normal?? Gross!

Well ladies I am still here! Wasn't my waters... Obs thinks it was just an "artefact" of our action the previous night.

    Teehee, artefact!

Anyway - I'll keep hoping and waiting!

Heaven, sorry I missed your post, did yours turn out to be anything exciting???

you can get a swap from the chemist that you just rub on the liquid and it changes colour if its your waters...

    Hey OP
the same thing happenend to me the day b4 my show started. Thought it just was the 'artefact of DTD' the nite b4- love the description.

Next day my show started- just a little and went on to have Levi the day after. My waters didnt break until just b4 i hit transition in labour. It came out as a whole bag and hit the floor ( i was standing) like a water baloon popping- all over my doula and DH feet- it was a crackup. Also the rest - which was most of my show, came out with my waters as well.

Also it could be your pelvic floor muscles starting to kack themselves a bit due to pressure and you might not be able to hold on as well as usual! Totally normal.

    OOOH its getting close!!!!
