    Push!

How long did it take for your 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th babies to come once labour started?

We need to decide where to have #3, the nearest BIG city is 45mins away + 20mins to park, I dont wanna get caught out LOL
DH almost didnt make it on time last baby (he had to go home to get my bag and organise his parents to look after the DS1)
There are ok hospitals here but they are crowded and not really the best.

It took my second 50mins. Wait for other replies though, I think you'll find I'm definitely up one end of the bell curve here.

Sure is. I don't recommend it, but if that IS your scenario, then you can do it!

Labour with DS was 22 hours - from first contraction to arrival of baby

Labour with DD was 11 hours - from first contraction to arrival of baby

Number 3 - I'll find out in about 3 weeks LOL. OB and midwives say it should be shorter again, especially because this one feels as though it is smaller than the other two, who were quite big babies, so I shouldn't muck about home too long before coming in to the hospital.

DD1 was 9hrs from 1st contraction and born 20min after waters broke. (15min pushing)

DD2 was 5hrs from first proper contraction and born 8min after waters broke. (8min pushing)

With DD2 the hospital is 45min away but i refused to leave our house until i had eaten mums lasagna... lol i think i knew this time round what my body was telling me and i was a lot calmer.
I also wasn't taking NO for an answer in going to hospital as i was NOT having another baby at home on the bathroom floor.

I say do what your comfortable with, you can always tell the hosp you live further away and therefore feel more comfortable coming in when you feel it's time.

DS was a 38ish hour labour.... I lived 5 mins max from the hospital.
DD was 10 hours and I lived 100kms away. I was worried about a roadside birth because my mum went from a 34 hour labour with me, to a 3 hour labour with my sister... thankfully I made it with heaps of time to spare.

With my first all up it was 12hrs. Then with my second it was 4hrs all up. When I think about it now my second labour was quite close to being a roadside one. Thankfully we made it to the hospital though.

    Good luck with your decision.

First was 19 hours from first ctx to bubs out

    Second was 4 hours.

My middy said the third can be as long or short as they like....I am expecting a short labour again but she said thirds do what they like.

DS1 - 9 hours from waters breaking to birth (only 4 hours felt like "real" labour though) - 30 mins of pushing.

DS2 - 7 hours from first noticing contractions (again though, only 2 hours felt like "real" labour) - 40 mins of pushing and born 45 mins after waters were broken.

1st was 15hors from 1st real contraction (30hrs from waters breaking) and 2.5hr pushing stage (but she was posterior)

2nd was 4hours from 1st real cotnraction (again , 30hours from waters breaking), went from 4cm to fully dilated in 1hr and 8min pushing stage (luckily I was already in the hosp as had to go in for gbs antibiotics once waters had broke)

1st, waters broke, baby not engaged so they induced and it was 4 hours from putting the drip in till birth - don't know how long second stage was.

2nd, bubs was engaged and it 3 hrs & 43 mins from waters breaking, probably 3.15 hrs from first contraction. 2nd stage was only 13 mins. This one is still fresh in my mind.

For interest sake, I was 3rd born but second pregnancy, my mum says I took my time coming out.
