    Question Womama

Has anybody got a Womama birthing wrap dress? They look so comfy! Did you wear it during birth?

oh they do look cool! i saw them for sale at the baby show!

that said, i was given something really similar that i laboured in (a stretchy long dress) and it was wonderful, so if you are looking at the womama, i would so say yes! i loved being covered and being able to just 'shuck' it off when the time was right...(ie stepping into the birth pool)

I did - I wore it in the ambulance and it was a horrible situation but for some reason being in that - I had a long sleeved t-shirt on and the wrap around me, it gave me some comfort.

It was also nice to put on in the last few weeks of pregnancy.

    They look nice.

With dd I was nude and wrapped myself in an old sheet...then abandoned it during second stage.

Ds I was fully clothed until pushing when Dh had to take my pants off...lol...we were caught a bit surprised! I still remember him gently pulling them down, and I was on my knees so there was a bit of maneuvering to get them off!

So yeah a dress would have been easier

Can you remember how much they were?

I have been thinking of different designs and maybe making something, but the Womama looks pretty good as is. Wonder how it would go in the bath (if that's what i decide on the day)

I would consider it if I were having an out-of-home birth, but being at home, I'm happy to nude up, or just wear a singlet/cami and undies till it's time for the water.

Binsi skirts can also be an option.

Like Mayaness, I just nude up & thriw on a dressing gown if I feel like being modest.

I was going to get one but they are so expensive. I got a comfy nighty that looked like a dress and wore that during labour. It was a stretchy material in black and grey.

see, i couldnt nude it up when i was in the backyard picking flowers or when i decided to go for a walk with the dog when i was in labour with DD2. it was nice to have something that just slipped on and off ITMS.

it also meant that i could just get into the pool at that moment where waiting is not an option and then at a calmer time, slip it off over my head without needing anyone to help...

For our next one it won't be a problem to be nude - nearest neighbours are almost a kilometre up the road

marknjo in our Belly Buddies used one. Maybe PM her?

I had a squizz at the baby expo - they look a lot like a regular old jersey wrap dress, and I have a few of them. Would be easy to make your own, or check the op shops, there's lots around.
