I also agree with the last part of that sentence. this is what preparing for labour should entail...a deep look at what fears we may hold (and these need to encompass fears that are not necessarily related to childbirth, but also things like the transition to parenthood etc etc that some may be experiencing ITMS). All these sort of worries/concerns can impact play a part in the birth process.
Fear is part of an adrenaline response, adrenaline slows labour: it is a primal survival 'fight or flight' response. This is where my calm-birth training really came into its own.
