Talking 3/11/08 birth of Snoopea's little monkey - Hayden

Hi everyone here's my birth story for my 3rd little monkey Hayden!

It all started at 5:40am on Monday the 3/11/08 7 days over my due date, when I woke up for another toilet session. I just didn't feel as tho I'd finished so i sat there for a few minutes. I remember getting a huge popping sound and felt like i'd just lost 1/2 my body in the toilet, with a sigh I thought still no baby! As I went to stand I felt an odd trickle and sat down again, when I wiped my self it happened again, I noticed that the fluid had meconium present, I called for DH who got me the phone to ring the hospital. I was advised to come straight in due to the meconium, so we quickly woke and gave DD & DS breakfast, while they were eating I had some mild period pain! With breakfast over we quickly dressed DD & DS, while dressing them my first contraction hit so we loaded up the car and headed for the hospital! In the car I had another 3 contractions they were getting stronger and were 2 mins appart lasting for 45 seconds. As we arrived at the hospital another contraction hit, so we quickly went inside leaving all the bags behind, almost at the birthing unit I had another contraction and stopped to grab the hand rail! A midwife stopped to see if I was ok and helped us to the birthing suite! I was taken to my room and told a shift change was happening and my midwife would be in shortly, you don't need to push yet I was asked as she left 'no i repiled'. As the midwife left I headed to the toilet, I should have clicked that the feeling of pressure was bubs as I stood in the bathroom, my body started to push. I made my way out of the toilet told DH I was pushing and to hit the call button. Three midwifes walked in and decided to do an internal and to hook up the ctg due to the meconium. As they were discussing it another contraction, I yelled I'm pushing and started moaning it's too soon, they quickly helped me get my pants of and onto the bed, the midwife looked down and told the others the head's here! Three midwifes came running one with a heart monitor for bubs, with the next contraction I pushed out most of the head and with another our little monkey Hayden got his first view of DH, DD & DS looking down at him, another push and the body was out!!! Hayden arrived at 7:10am an hour and 20 minutes from water breakage and active labour was 45 minutes, I only had 6 contractions before pushing! Hayden's been excellent a breastfeeding monkey and scored 9 & 9 for his agars!!! Hayden's weight was 4.1kg or 9lb 1oz, 53cms long and a head circum of 35cms!

I spent the next 5 hours in shock and couldn't believe my monkey had finally arrived!!!! We left the hospital at 4:45pm on Monday, 9.5 hours after Hayden's birth!

Thankyou for reading my birth story!!!

    Luv Snoopea
