Summer was born on 7th of May @ 8:24pm.
Though the birth was fine, my experience on a whole was a nightmare. So much so that I actually had a Nervous Breakdown.
I went in to the hospital on 2 separate occasions for an Induction. First time they used the Tape, but as it didn't work they sent me home to come back to try again after the weekend. The second time they used the Gel. Which they had to use 2 times over 2 days
(which wasn't done the way it was meant to be as doc didn't leave further instructions). They had tried to put an I.V into either hand/arm/wrist over 11 times for the drips (my arms and hands are quite badly bruised). They tried to break my waters 2 times. The Midwife kept leaving the room, offering no indication of how long she would be etc and not checking the baby heartbeat monitor and even turned it off at one point from recording.
My DH became so distressed over the heartbeat dropping so low, as it was staying down low and he and I both knew it didn't mean anything good. So, a long story short, Summer was born within 40mins of pushing/episiotomy/vacuum, with the Umbilical Cord wrapped around her neck. I had about 10 people in the birth suite with me, the only one I knew was my husband.
I would state in much more detail about my experience, but there is no point as it was quite negative. If I can I am going to make sure I can go private to another hospital next time around as the care we had etc was pretty despicable. Not from everyone who worked with us, there are some great great nurses etc out there, but being understaffed and having no room can make it 10 times harder to get the care/help you need. We only brought Baby Summer home yesterday afternoon and are glad to see the back of that place.
She was born at exactly 7pounds and is the most beautiful baby I have seen in a long long time. She is such a well behaved baby and so loving. I am so in love and happy and......well words just don't describe how we feel right now to have her home with us!!!! I wish all of you out there about to give birth, the best. I pray you don't have to go through what I did and get to have the birth you wished for
