So it all started on Saturday 24th July with pre-labour pains. It was awful as I thought it was the real deal, but unfortunately it was not meant to be. By 3pm, they had all gone and I slept for a couple of hours. That night during dinner etc I was not getting any pains and bub was moving around heaps, so I was convinced I was still way off from having her.
10:00pm that night, a massive contraction hit. Another one 15 minutes later. They were 15 minutes apart for the first hour, then at 11:00pm they were suddenly 3 minutes apart, and very intense. DH and I decided we'd head up to the hospital at this point and arrived at 11:45pm. Internal at midnight showed I was 5cm dilated and bub was fully engaged. I jumped in the shower straight away and the contractions were now every 2 minutes lasting 60-90 seconds. Ouchies! At 12:57am my waters broke and showed bub had done a poo. I was put on the bed for monitoring. At 1:00am, I turned around on the bed (I had the bedhead up and was leaning over the pillows) and felt a huge urge to push. I didn't actually have to push though, my body and bub did it all and at 1:02am she was here! A whopping 2 minute delivery. The cord was extremely short and I could barely lift her off the bed, so we cut the cord straight away. I then turned around and sat down with her for cuddles. She latched on within minutes of being born and the cord was cut. I didn't receive any grazing or stitches either
Awesome birth story!! Short cords are a pain arent they, must be a 3rd bub thing because Stellans was the same! Cant wait to see pics of Ambah; congrats again!!!
