The birth of my little miracle baby - William

Ok I will start from the start

On Wednesday the 6th Jan i had Acupunture to help turn william into a better position and to help relieve the pain in my pelvis. Acupuncture worked a treat, william responded well and turned to a great position and my pelvis was feeling great!

Thursday 7th Jan - Woke up as a normal day, i had in my head that bubs would come after his due date so didnt really think anything about labour, my pelvis still fetl great so after i dropped the kids at daycare i went on a shopping frenzy lol nah still couldnt walk very well but way better then i have in a long time! i even mopped the floors! fetl great, picked the kids up from daycare then i started to get abit tired from doing more then normal. did usual cook dinner etc lacey went down normal at 6.30pm then i had a bath about 7pm, went to move to get out of the bath and felt a pop! had no idea what it was lol was hoping it was my pelvis. got out no real gush so went and got dressed, layed down for about 10mins before putting joel to bed. just before i got up i fetl umm wet down there........ moved and got a little gush. still convincing myself that it was bath water lol. put joel to bed went to get a book to read to him and got another gush! told harley that i think my waters were leaking and put on a pad a few more gush's. got joel to sleep at about 8pm went and layed down. rang mum and told her to get ready as my waters were leaking, told harley to give me 2hrs to see if labour started and at 8.31pm i got hit with a hard contraction!! ouch! talk about no build up! lol told mum to head up (1hr drive) so mum and dad got here about 10.30pm harley had everything ready to go contractions were about 10mins apart, i think lol didnt really time them. 30min drive to the birth centre...........

contractions were still very strong and when i got out of the car to walk up i told harley i felt very dilated! got in had a different midwife coz mine had both been there all day so need a rest before coming into me which was fine coz i thought i was still in early labour, middy asked if i would like an internal to see what was going on so at 12.15am i got an internal done, cervix was still long baby was high, was 4cm stretching to 5cm but cervix was posterior hence the massive painful contractions. so instead oof pacing i was down over a birth ball on my knees to push cervix forward. got in and out of the shower to help with pain, then out onto another birth ball.

At 1.30am i had the urge to get up onto the big double bed with a blanket and lay on my side...... managed to get up there, contractions went to about 2mins apart straight away....... i started to shake which i do when im in transition. 4 contractions latter i felt bubs push which really hurt my pelvis then another pop! my main waters have broken! got one more contraction and my midwife annie walked in the door, as she walked over to me i started to push! lol 1.58am i started pushing........ 13mins to get his head born (told annie it was a big head coz i remember having trouble with joels lol) 2 more pushes and he was born at 2.14am

Willaim gave a little cry when he was half out then when he was put in my arms he fell straight to sleep.

Reason for not getting my water birth - Annie my midwife has only just moved here from england so has to go through water birth cert all over again and is one step away from it, so she needs a water birth cert middy to attend the birth with her but no one on at the time could help. Once annie got there she called in another middy that was on call that could be there but we didnt get time! I felt funny about it at the time but then when i started to shake i knew i wouldnt make it to the bath and prob wouldnt have been able to be in there with all the shaking anyway. I was told yesterday at my check up that they wouldnt have been able to get me in anyway coz baby would have fallen out when annie arrived lol So im disappointed i missed out but not angry coz im still in shock how quick it all went.

    Stats - Born 8th Jan at 2.14am
    Weight - 9lb 1oz
    Length - 54cm
    Head - 37cm
No pain relief, birthed the placenta without the injection in 25mins
Was a very easy labour and birth!
Home 5hrs after he was born!

Update from yesterdays middy app for him and why hes a miracle!
Has only lost 180grams since birth which is great! he does have jaundice though all my kids have had it! they were going to put him under the lights last night but decided that coz its only yellow that shows and hes feeding really well and very alert then they wouldnt keep my there. have to go back tomorrow for more blood tests. Why hes a miracle child?? well after he was born we noticed that he had a knot in the cord!! lucky it wasnt very tight but i didnt think too much of it as annie was calm about it. i found out yesterday that she didnt want to tell me but she has only ever since that knot in stillborn births!! so she said it was a miracle that hes was born alive!

So after 2 babies with cord issues that could have taken their lives it def makes me glad were not going for more kids coz i think we would be pushing it!

So hes been my best birth and best post birth recovery!!

ETA - Story was written 1wk ago since then we ended up in hospital with him under ALOT of phototherapy lights to get rif of his jaundice but were back on track and as good as new

Congratulations on such a lovely birth. He is very lucky as true knots are very dangerous.

Glad to hear you are home from him sunbaking in hospital!!!

    Enjoy your babymoon

I didn't even realise you had your bub - bit slow off the mark

Sounds like you both were very lucky everything ended up well
Glad to hear your last birth, was your best

Both my bubbies ended up in photo therapy too (one for 3 days, one for 4, both under the double lights), it sucks hey!
