The birth of our IVF miracle :)

I thought it was about time I posted the birth story whilst it is fresh in my mind!

On the 10/11/10 the ob had booked me in to have the gels put in and stay in hospital over night due to me being 1cm for 2 weeks and not progressing at all so agreed and went and stayed the night kissed DH goodbye and went to sleep....

11/11 6.30am I had an internal and was told I was 2cm dilated and they were going to break my waters so had the waters broken and the dr put a piece of hair on my hand and sticky taped it he said wow she has long black hair and just had her first haircut dh and I smiled at each other... He also said there was a small amount of meconium in the waters but suggested that was because she was overdue and wasn't too concerned and placed a HB monitor on her head to get an acurate HB on her and he was happy for me to continue labouring on my own...

Then after a few hours of nothing happening I was hooked up to the syntocin drip and contractions started coming every 5 minutes but I was breathing through them comfortably, then every hour they kept turning it up a little bit more and more I started to get a bit uncomfortable so I asked to try the gas that was working really well!

So it was around 10:50 and contractions started coming hard and fast I was still breathng through them and having gas when need be...

At 3.30 they decided to do another check and turn the syntocin up even more then about 30minutes in the contractions were ontop of each other they were soo painful and I had the urge to push they told me DON'T PUSH the midwife did an internal to check and said only 4cm don't push they turned the syntocin off and the contractions stayed the same they called my ob and he said not to push orelse I would swell the cervix and she would never come out he also suggested an epi as the head was still quite high and that bub was spine on spine hence the urge to push...

So they tried putting the epi in and wasn't that a struggle for the poor aneathetist the contractions were still ontop of each other and I was started to get really loud through them DH was infront of me and he said he could see the fear in my eyes as I was soo scared of having an epi.. So finally they put it in and I was back to normal with no pain.

At 4 they put the syntocin back on and then bubs heart rate was dropping it would be 140 then drop to 60 with every contraction they turned the syntocin off again called the OB and before I knew it I was being rushed for an emergency c section....

So at 4.48 our little princess entered the world with the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times her head was never going to fit into my pelvis and she was purple and blue and they had to work on her for a little bit it was the most traumatic time of my life but once she was all ok they placed her on my chest and I had cuddles then dh went with her just outside the theatre and before I knew it I was out there too with her feeding on my chest...

But she is now home and safe and we love her more than anything!!!
