The Arrival of Crumpets long awaited princess

ok so as some of u know i had my OB appt on the 14th for my 37week check up after having the stitch taken out. so all was looking good OB was happy and agreed to induce us after a internal showed i was 3-4cm with buldging waters.
we agreed to ARM and then syntocin drip as our plan of attack, not quite what i wanted i wanted the gel then ARM but i wasnt going to argue and was happy to get things moving.
he called the ward and they said they couldnt do it the next day but would do it the thursday, OB was happier coz he wanted to do it on 38weeks, so i said ask them for today and the middie decided she would fit us in, thank god!! LOL......

So OB took us straight over to the delivery room, and they got me to do a pee sample and all that fun stuff, up on the bed and BAM waters were broken before i knew it!!
feral feeling that is! mind u it just trickled i was expecting a huge gush, was slightly disappointed really!! LMAO!!
we had 2 hours to walk the hospital to get things happening myself after that the drip was going up, so we walked and walked and walked and had to be back for a check every 30 mins.....
after half a hour started getting pains, and they slowly got stronger and were 4 mins apart but by 230 they wernt strong enough or close enough so drip went up!!

    lordy the party started then!!
OMG they were coming and coming hard!! i was strapped to the monitor so couldnt move around much, we tried having me stand but my legs would turn to jelly at each contraction so that wasnt going to work i ended up sitting on the side of the bed trying to manage things that way, but they were to strong, so at 330 i called for the pethadine, and as our middie and student middie were organising it the epi man was in the hallway to see if he was needed before he went home, so they jabbed me and then got my OB to ok the epi and at 4 that was done!
pure frikken heaven i tell ya!!
for a split second i wasnt going to have it coz of the catheter side of things, but that thought lasted 2 seconds!!
so epi in, and i was a happy happy camper! dozed on and off, but they were contantly poking my belly coz they couldnt get her on the trace so OB had to put a scalp monitor on....

come 7pm OB was leaving for the day and popped past to check on us.
he has said he expected a 9-10pm delivery so was going home for dinner and then coming back.... so lifts the sheets and moves my legs and says " wow theres babie's head!" shan goes " are u sure?" LOL nice work shan, questioning the guy who looks at things like this all day and has done for a million years!
so OB says have a look and shan goes "**** THERE IS HAIR AND ITS NOT URS!!" i nearly chocked on my own air!!!

so OB says he is going for a coffee and dont do anything in the next 5 mins!!
he comes back and my student got us positioned and we started pushing when i felt the pressure of the contractions....
so we pushed and pushed, and while thats happening there is machines going off, OB looks lightly concerned and says my heart rate is a bit high and hers was a bit low.....
we kept going until mine hit 150 and he decided things were getting risky so asked if he coukd "help" out with the forceps, i said no forceps but i said that he could use the vacum. at this point id started to tear so he asked if he could do a episiotomy and i agreed and no longer than 2 seconds after he cut her head fell out and then her body a few seconds later!!! i didnt even have to push!!!

so she came out and the did the usual on the tummy thing, well on the gown coz i told them if she was real gunky i didnt want to be covered in it!! LMAO!!!!

then the **** really hit the fan!!
i told shan he was to be at her side no matter what before the induction started, so he was standing with us and they wiped her down and got her cleaned up.

in the mean time i got the jab in the leg and the placenta came out.
    and the haemorrage started....
OB says to student midde " get rubbing that uterus NOW!!" so she leaves Summah and shan, who by this time has turned around and all he has seen is my legs in the air with blood pouring out of me! poor ***** nearly died!
then they call for assistance, but it didnt get there in time, OB got things under control and sorted in time.

so once that was sorted we were free to admire Summah.....

so she was born at 8pm on the dot on the 14th december.
    weight: 7lb2oz/3240g
    length: 47.5cm
    head:34.5cm
    apgars: 9 & 9

so they got me up at about 12 for a shower and by 130 we were settled in our room. Summah spent the night in the nursery coz i had the catherter and couldnt really do much and after the litre plus of blood i lost they wanted me to get a decent rest. shan came back at 6am and bought her back in then and by 10 i was free to do what i wanted....

fast forward to friday and we noticed her rash, fairly spotty so we told the middie who checked her over and they thought it was a bad case of rash of the newborn. her OB's were fine no temp or anything. so my OB came in and we asked him and he decided to call in the paed just incase so few hours later he came in and checked her over, again she is fine but ill do full bloods just incase.
3 hrs later and we were told she was being admitted for what they thought was a infection.
so millions of jabs, blood tests, anti biotics and a million tears and she is finally a healthy little monkey again!!

not quite the birth i wanted, i had planned on avoiding the epi but that was when i was hoping to have the gel to get things moving, but i got my VB so im stoked with that!!

but who cares Summah is here and thats all that matters!
and we are smitten with her, she has us wrapped around her finger already, shan especially!

Congratulations! Sounds like you had a couple of scares with your bleeding and little ones rash, but like you said she is here and she is well as are you. BTW she is the exact same birth weight as my DD.

    Enjoy your new born cuddles.
