Birth Story Of My Twin Girls

Heres a bit of a long story of the birth of my darling lil twins.I found out i was pregnant in aug 2004 which was a huge shock i never ever saw myself as a mother but yes i was pregnant

my whole pregnancy went well i had a little morning sickness

but that passed at the 13 weeks thank god

. At my 20 week and first ultrasound i found out i was having twins i was so so shocked. All went well until 30 weeks when if ound out my twins had twin to twin transfusion or Inter uterine growth restriction i cried and cried i was in hospital for two weeks then sent home. Two weeks later had another scan only to find out twins 1 wasnt growing again so i was put in hospital on wednesday the 30th of March 2005 (my lil brothers birthday) I was put in a room made comfy and at 4:00pm a Dr was sent in to give me an ultrasound to check the twins were head down as they were going to apply gel to my cervix to make it dilate. So not long after the ultrasound the nurse applied the gel to my cervix which hurt so much OUCH !!! After that i started getting instant pain i knew i wasnt in labor because the pain was continuos but at about 7 and after 2 showers to help the pain i asked the nurse for some pain relief. She told me the pain was a reaction to the gel which was quite common.So i some panadene forte which helped a little but about 8 i couldnt take the pain anymore and called the nurse again. Thr Dr came in and checked me only to find i was 3cm dilated a shock for the nurse and the rest of us as we were told the twins would arrive until the next morning, Guess they had other ideas

. Around 9:30 the Dr came in to explain i had to have an epidural in case twin 2 turned after twin 1 was born in that case theyd have to turn her around inside of me OUCH again. So i was given an epidural, which i might add was the best thing ive ever had

. Around 1130 my whole family had arrive and i was ready to push YIPPEE

Twins 1 Hannah Louise was born at 12:27am weighing 4pound 9oz after 20 mins of pushing and twin 2 Chanel Tailah was born at 12:57am weighing 5pound 4oz. I had a great labor i cant complain about a thing. All up i was in labor for 5 hrs 15mins i had the best female Dr and even though i was a high risk pregnancy my mum,aunty,partner,mother in law. The nurses and midwives were lovely and took great care of me an all around good labor and delivery. I hope the next one is as easy as the twins

.The twins spent 9 days in hospital then came home.
