    Talking Finally- Jades earthside arrival!

I was a week overdue and getting very antsy cause I was 2 days away from induction... was getting sick of sore back, and hearing all my other belly buddies stories of their babies (I was the last one)!

On sunday 17 may I had hardly felt bubs move and was quite worried so dp drove me to the hossy and they popped me on the ctg machine. They said she was fine and I was having mild contx 5 mins apart (couldn't feel them tho). The mw said ill tell the night girls to expect you! And here's me thinking yeah right! This was about 3pm.

At about 6pm I started getting period pains id had a fair bit the last week so I wrote it off as BH's. After a couple I realised they were getting regular so started timing them. From 6 to 730 they were 4-5 mins apart so I told dp to be prepared. By 730 to about 830 they were 2-3 mins apart and quite painful, I rung hossy at 845 and they said don't rush, most 1st labours are 10-12 hrs, try stay home a while, if u come too soon we will send u hm. I said ok but after another half hr they were 2 mins apart and v painful so dp grabbed my hossy bags and drove me there.

At 930 they did internal and said I was 3cm, and that i def wasnt going home!! The contx got intense so I went in the hot bath and for abt half hr just breathed thru contx then asked for gas (they had it in the bathroom). I was happy to try gas but didn't want any other drugs. By about 11pm I couldn't sit in bath anymore so went to labour suite and went on all fours and used gas...it was getting pretty unbearable and I asked for the morphine shot.

They kept putting it off and saying 'in a minute' which annoyed me at the time but im glad now cause by the time I yelled I can't take it give me the shot!! They said no its time to push. I pushed for about an hr and at 1.12am Jade Freya Arbon entered the world!

I had a few grazes and labour altogether was 7 hrs which is short for a 1st labour I hear? She weighed in at 7pd 15 oz (almost 8 pd what a buddha haha) and had a full head of brown hair which we weren't expecting at all! Dp watched the whole thing and cut the cord and kept telling me how proud he was of me!

About 3am my tailbone started killing me and I was in agony til 10am when docs came and gave me morphine they think I dislocated it somehow, and had 2 put catheta in cause I couldn't walk 2 toilet, as they put catheta in they said I had a few labial tears but couldt stitch up cause I was in too much pain to put my legs in stirrups...I didn't and still don't feel any pain down there cause my tailbone is so sore.

Im proud I laboured using only gas just such a shame cause I was in hossy 2 nights and was on morphine oxycontin voltarn and tramadol for the pain and was so out of it I barely remember.

Am still in a lot of pain and on tramadol, hope my tailbone gets better soon, sleep deprivation sucks and BF hurts like hell but I love my little girl!!

Thanks for reading my story, ask any questions u like

May I please ask a question?

I have been thinking of "all fours" as well. Did you birth in that position or just labour? Was it as comfortable as it could be considering you were having a baby?

I have started to think lately that my hands/elbows/knees might give in if I go all fours...

Congrats and I saw the pics on FB. She does infact have the most magnificent head of hair!

Angelaartstudent: I laboured for the last few contx and birthed in this position, I dunno why I wasn't planning on a certain position but I found my body coped better with the contx in this position...altho being on all fours when I pushed I did do a lil poo but the mw's see it all the time so they don't mind. But im not sure if that's what put my coxic bone out...I busted it as a kid so its already irritable so probably would've busted it no matter what position...

And yes she has the cutest head of hair!! Wasn't expecting that at all!

Oh Emma i feel so proud & yet i don't even know you, LOL ... Such a brilliant job you did there, yep just amazing

... And i know how you feel about the head of hair as my DD shocked me too as she came out with the biggest head of dark hair (i had NO hair myself as a bub until i was 18mths old then it was like silver) ... My DD looked like she had a toupee on, so funny ... I just saw JADE'S photo, she is just the " cutest bub ever " ... her hair looks just like my DD's did !!!!!

Love her entire full name ... looks & sounds so fantastic

......... A lil' KORN fan in the making

Cherish every given moment as i know you as her Mummy will

... And take SUPER care of YOU too ... Hugs from Lorelle & lil' Cendrine xox

I just wanted to say congratulations again. Apart from the dislocated tailbone, you seem to have had a good labour (as far as labours go). Well done.
