Kai is here - My birth Story

Well Hi to you all.

Thursday 14th I gave birth to my little boy Kai Lewis Baldwin.I went in as scheduled on Wednesday 13th for my Induction.This is how it went.

Phoned at 8am Wednesday morning...was told to go in at 9.30am.At 9.30am,I was put into my room ready to be Induced,I had to wait a few hours and finally at 12am I was given the Gel to soften my cervix and hopefully waters would break.But this can only be done every 6 hours if it doesnt work the first time.At 6pm on having my examination to see if the Gel had done anything to my cervix,they found I was only 2cm.So I was given more Gel and another 6 hour wait and numerous gos on the heart machine to monitor baby.

By 10pm,One of the midwifes said she thinks baby could be breech So got a Doctor to scan me on a portable scanner.Turned out he was head down and fixed like I had previously been told.And at 12.55am Thursday 14th I told the Doctor I would like my waters broke and he had to examine me first to see how the second lot of Gel has done. It had gone to 2 and half cm.And he was happy enough to break my waters.Because of excess fluid,I warned him to get some wellies on.My waters were broke and felt like they were never going to stop.After 2 hours of not much happening,I was put on a drip to get contractions going.I started finally getting abit of pain an hour later,but not enough to push baby down the birth canel.So after turning the drip up and another hour at 4am,I finally started getting stronger contractions,and at 7.29am My son Kai was born.

Skorpy- I was thinking about you and wondering how your induction had gone.

He is absolutely gorgeous and you look fantastic in the photo after only just having him.

I hope the swelling in your leg and foot has gone down now and you can wear shoes again.

The Induction took longer then I thought it would..but from the start of labour till birth was pretty quick,so I can at least be Thankful for that
