the little girl who wouldnt wait. Isabelles story

dont know how all this will come out, im still in a bit of a haze so bare with me!

At the start of the yr i decided it was time for another baby, i came off the pill and was almost instantly pregnant.
Endured 15 weeks of MS ans shocking headaches, had 2 perfect scans, the second revealing we were having another princess.
DF was always adamant that we'd only ever have 2 children, but after hearing we were having another girl he started talk about number 3!
her name was picked well before she was concieved so now all that was left was to sit and wait!
i had no other complications besides the normal aches and pains of pregnancy and we were starting to get very excited about meeting our little girl.

Saturday 5th of septmeber 35 weeks exactly
i had my parents over for dinner and i was showing mum all the little bits and pieces we'd bought for our girl and i remember say i cant wait till she's here so we can play with all her new things!( words i'd soon live to regret!)

    Sunday 6th- Fathers day
an ordinary sunday morning, DD1 was up at 6ish DF got up and told her to get back into bed because it was too early. he came back to bed and we chatted for a little while and started drifting back off to sleep.
then i felt a trickle. didnt think too much of it at first, just thought to myself well thats odd. then something in my head clicked and i jumped out of bed quicker than i ever have in my life! ran to the ensuite and the flood gates opened!!
DF was lying in bed and said this is going to sound strange but i really hope ur peeing ur pants!
We rang the hospital and they said to come in straight away.

At the hospital was strapped to the CTG and ive never in my life been so happy to hear a little heartbeat. Had an internal done and they said my cervix was long and closed and we then waited for an ambulance so we could be transferred to another hospital because the one i was booked into couldnt take high risk patients.
Was given a tablet to stop the tightenings i was getting so i wouldnt give birth in the ambo!
At the second hospital same story, 5 hours on the CTG my tightenings fizzled and i was admitted to the maternity ward. TBH as much as i knew it was best for her to stay in, i was kind of depressed that she wouldnt be coming.
3 long and boring days were to follow with nothing happening, then i was sent home with a course of AB's and to return every second day for bloods and monitoring to make sure i didnt get an infection and was to go back on the 18th(my birthday) for an induction.

    thursday 10th
DF and i go food shopping and get a few teeny tiny premmie clothes. i start to get contractions here and there for most of the night, they didnt get worse or closer so i went to bed.

    Friday 11th
Much of the same thing, contractions get more intense and closer through the day but then fizzle out to nothing...starting to get very very frustrated!!

    Saturday 12th
I was up at 3am with pains, then back to bed. back up at 530 and started timing. 4 mins apart lasting between 1min and 1min and a half. Wake DF up and head to the hospital at 630.
We're admitted, given a room and then wait.
Given an internal at 8am, 3cms and very thin! woohoo...this wont take long at all.
We meet the pead and a few other ppl who will be attending the birth as bubs is 4 weeks early.
contractions heat up as im moving around the room and using the fitball, but bubby's heart rate keeps dipping and they decide its best if i stay in bed. contraction measurer on the CTG flat lines and my contractions are no more. We discuss using some sinto to get them going again.
Ob preforms another internal at 12 and tells me im still only 3cms. Give me the sinto i tell him.
Sinto starts and 3 hours of me literally screaming like an animal i get the urge to push, but its not like i remember with my first.
i remember the pain stopping when the pushing urge started. this time there was still pain but then the urge to push near the end of the contraction, so i was breathing hard through the pain and unable to get a big enough breath to push hard enough to make any headway.
After 45mins pushing im screaming at them to use the vaccum or forceps because i just cant do it anymore. she just wont come. The midwives continuously tell me im almost there im almost there, i think they said it a hundred time.
but with the support of my DH and the 3 gorgeous midwives i had, i started to feel my little girl crown, i was trying to concentrate but in the back of my head all i could think was that i was nearly over.
and then it was, her head was out and one last push she was in my arms, breathing and looking around at the world she couldnt wait to see!
she has a monster bruise on her head because at some point she decided to turn around and come out forehead first! cheeky girl. they said that this is why it took me so long to get her out
she was with me for around an hour and had a feed but was taken to the SCN because she had low blood sugar.
I was stitched up and had a shower and by the time i was out, she was back in my room ready for another feed.
The whole time all the docs and midwives had told us to prepare for a tiny baby, because my bump was so small, she came back in with a fantastic weight of 7 pounds and 6 ounces...my little chubba
3 good blood readings later her obs changed to 6 hourly then at 3pm the next day she was discharged from SCN.
We're now home, having some small feeding issues but otherwise doing fantasticly

out of all the things i had planned for my birth i only got one and that was a drug free birth.
im not in any way dissapointed about not being able to do the things i really wanted because at the end of it all just knowing my baby was safe was all that mattered. And besides, we can do all of the other stuff with number 3 :P
