Finally i thought i would share my story.

Due to possible complications we had to have our baby in Monash Clayton -1.5 hours from home. My due date was November 7 so hubby and I staying in accommodation at Clayton from November 1 just in case bubs came early.

At my 41 week appointment the Dr decided due to baby's size i would be booked in to be induced 6pm Thursday 11th. On Wednesday about 6pm i started to feel a bit of back pain (had no idea this was the start of labor because until then i had had no b/h or any show at all) then i noticed at about 8pm the baby not moving as much so i called the hospital and they said wait about 30 min and if no better come over. I had a shower sat and relaxed then at about 9pm we went to the hospital. They monitored me and baby and everything was fine but decided to keep me over night so the morning Dr could look at me.

About 8am Thursday the Dr came and seen me and said they would induce me that morning so at 9.49am they broke my waters and started the syntocinon drip- i was 2cm at this stage. The contractions started im not sure what rate they were but the midwives always seemed to say i was getting 4 every 10 minutes.

Im not sure what time it was but i ended up having an clip put on baby's head for monitoring because they kept loosing baby's heart beat - it was a bit uncomfortable but not too bad, then after another hour or so i had to have another internal monitor put in for my contractions. This was VERY painful and also scary for hubby because the Dr was literally reading the instructions on how to do it (apparently they only do this 1 or 2 times a year) then i had to have a catheter.

I was coping ok with pain till about 6pm when i started using the gas, but because i was not able to get off the bed and move around and all my pain was in my back i got an an epidural at about 10pm.

The Midwives checked me every 3-4 for progress but nothing was changing - always 2-3 cm. At about 5-6am Friday morning they decided to stop the drip and see what happens, still nothing and contractions stopped and said to wait till Dr came in at 8am and see what he thinks.

Dr came in and said Csection. I was both relieved and disappointed. I so did not want a C section but I wasnt really in a position to say no lol

Then comes the surprise, at about 20 week Dr appointment we were told DEFINITE girl so you can imagine the shock both hubby and i were in when the surgeon said HE is a big one. We just both said what? HE?????

I didn't have much of a birth plan but what i wanted did not go to plan, but i wouldn't change it for the world.
