    Patrick James' birth

Well, I'm home and we are hoping for Patrick to join us on Saturday, we have a couple of hiccups to iron out but nothing too serious.
The short story is: On Tuesday night I was having mild pains, that kept me awake every hour or so. About 6am, they were about 15 minutes apart, but they were still bearable. At 8am they were 5 minutes apart and I was really feeling them and I said to my Aunts that I was still thinking of going shopping in Shepp. At 9.30am, I dropped the kids lunches and fruit at school and went home to drop Elizabeth off( I had abandoned the thought of shopping as the contractions were now 3 mins apart!). I said to my Aunts that we were heading over to the hospital and one of my aunts commented, I wonder if they will send you home again!
We left Euroa at 10.00am, and DH was sitting on 160km/hr all the way there (50km away!) It took us 15 mins to get there and even then that was cutting it close, I managed to drag the contractions from 3 mins to 10 mins apart!!
Got to the car park, and the contractions hit stronger back to 3 mins apart. Went up to Birth Suite and they checked my obs. and rang the RMO on duty.I had been there half an hour when I had an urge to push, the midwife checked and I was 5 cm dilated, with bulging forewaters. About 15 mins later I had another urge, so the midwife checked again and found I was further dilated to 9cm.She said three more contractions and he will be here. Well, they felt like forever, but I had another urge, so I pushed and my waters broke, halfway across the room! Not a minute later, Patrick's head was crowning and then he was here!
Dh cut the cord, and Bella was in her pram watching the whole thing!

    EDITED TO ADD:
Just received my birth summary from the hospital.
    Total labour was 5:46
    1st stage: 5.40
    2nd stage: 0.03
    3rd stage: 0.03
So to me that reads that I spent 3 mins pushing!!!!!!!!!!

Well, he is finally home after 12 days in SCN.
After a lot of discussions with Paeds they decided to let him come home sooner than expected. As long as we keep an eye on his weight they are happy!
