    wow.
I wish my husband would read this - I would love a homebirth, a water birth! but he won't have a bar of it.

Am interested in the role of placenta in the PND?

You know, it is amazing how many men come around to the idea of homebirth when they know a bit about it, an especially good way of helping them to see it is a sane and viable option is to have an appointment with an independant midwife, and let them grill her with any and every question they have about the whole thing, a confidant midwife in full flight is very awe inspiring...

The placenta contains many nutrients and hormones which simply nourish you, help you to replenish your nutrient stores, and help to balance out your hormones which tend to go quite out of whack after birth, especially if like me you are predisposed to PND.

if you google placentophagia you should find loads of information about it.

I highly recommend it to any woman having a drug free birth (you don't want to consume a drug filled placenta) it certainly has been a lifesaver for me this time around
