    6 months! And the flu

Today is the day I have reached my second breast feeding goal.
To celebrate I have the flu. Last night chills that I had to get into a hot shower to control and sweating through layers and layers of clothing.
How will this all impact my milk? I'm freaking out we are no where near ready to stop bf!
What can I take, I'm in a world sickness today?

Nup - won’t affect your supply at all. Just keep calm and keep feeding. The mechanism which controls milk supply is removal of milk from the breast. You can take panadol, hot lemon drinks and rest a lot. This will probably be the most effective anyway. Flue tablets can have a drying effect on bodily fluids. So, usually have only a marginal affect on milk supply at this age, but best to avoid if you can

We are still recovering from this I felt like death and was worried it might affect my supply but no problems both ds and I needed antibiotics but dr said because dd is so young best thing I can do is keep giving her breast milk which will have antibodies and to keep up my vitamin c with pineapple and kiwi fruit

I see lots of lying around in bed in your future Can you get someone round to help you out if you need it, so you can rest? Else lie down on the couch maybe and let DD have some floor time. Hope it improves really soon xx

Please keep up those fluids, take Panadol & rest. DH is still recovering from his pneumonia which started as a flu, hot & cold flushes, sweats etc. are you taking any antibiotics?

Apple cider vinegar in water will slice through snot. 1tbsp in 200ml. Tastes less bad than I expected, really works. Hope you get better soon. Sickness sucks.

Oh Joeve poor thing. I second the apple cider vinegar but I add a spoon full of honey which improves the taste and honey is antibacterial. Sometimes I buy Manuka or Jarrah as both are particularly antibacterial.

6 days in and I'm finally feeling a bit better. DD ended up sick, high temps and a cough but dr was happy with booby milk as her medicine and lots of it. I have not worn a bra since Monday I just couldn't be bothered and I fed more in the last 6 days than ever before. A lot for comfort and it was nice to see her sad little sick face look a bit happier when she was snuggled into me.
We are enjoying our vaporizer and hopefully will be back to 100% soon
What an absolute cracker of a flu... Unbelievable!
