    6 week growth spurt?

    Hey guys,
My 6 week old is feeding almost 2 hourly at the moment. I'm demand feeding and it has been working well so far for us.
Does this sound ok to everyone? Lots of friends with babies tell me that she is feeding too frequently and I should try "other things" when she is unsettled - which I do but it always ends up with her being hungry - I know the signs in my baby by now!!
I'm very frustrated with the well meaning advice from others.

Please tell me this is normal!!

You know best hon They do this from time to time, just follow your baby's cues and trust yourself (and smile and nod at those friends)

Yep we went through this just last week or so - I'm lucky it was only about 2hrly through the day and stretched to 3 to 5 hrly at night. We're back to 3 - 4 hrly now during the day, I think it was during our week 6ish growth spurt. It can be tiring, and not helped by all the well meaning comments, but you're doing great

William is five weeks this week and he is consistant with three hourly feeds if not less...and he feeds for around 40minutes. he is putting on plenty of weight and the health nurse and lactation consultant has not told me its a bad thing rather it is normal (the feeds) and he is doing great(weight gains)....you know when your baby is hungry... i'd rather have a happy content baby than one that cries for two hours because you have to only feed 'every four hours'. and yes they are meant to have a growth spurt at four, six and eight weeks i'm pretty sure.

Completely normal!! You are right... you know your baby best and you are following her lead. Those growth spurts/developmental stages (whatever they're called!) happen, and they don't last forever. With DS it happened at 6wks, 12wks and around 20wks and lasted a few days feeding every 1-2.5 hours. Just go with the flow, and don't worry about all the well meaning advice because you know what Evie needs better than anyone.
